Are you hungry for more participation in music at Liturgy? Unfortunately, the mechanics of singing can cause an aerosol of 12 feet, making it too risky for congregational singing. There may be some other ways that you can participate. We hope to be able to start a Handbell Choir once again. If you are interest-ed, please call Patty Brown at the Parish Office, 270-683-5641 or you can call or text her at 270-339-6644. Rehearsals will be in compliance with social distancing and masking requirements. We will need a commitment from five-eight people to have a successful handbell choir. We always need more cantors, keyboardists or guitarists in our Music Ministry. If you have those skills or if you play another instrument—such as percussion or a string instrument—please call Patty at the above number.

“O woman, great is your faith! Let it be done for you as you

wish.” Jesus speaks to the Canaanite (gentile) woman who approached Him for help in a way we might consider harsh, She was not be deterred by His initial rebuff. She persisted because she wanted

help for her daughter. Jesus noted that He was sent to the house of Israel that failed to recognize Him as the Messiah because of unfounded expectations. He sees in a non-Israelite woman the faith that was lacking in the house of Israel. The woman had no such expectations. She had a personal encounter with Jesus; she saw what he did and believed what he said. She knew she could turn to Him and He could help her daughter. Jesus proclaims that she is a person of great faith and her wish will be fulfilled. What is the nature of our faith in Jesus, unfounded expectations that are an obstacle to true belief in Him or a personal relationship with Him as Messiah and Lord? Will Jesus tell us “Great is your faith. Let it be done for you as you wish.”

Our Masses have resumed and we are so thankful to be able to gather and worship! There is no age restriction on attending Mass, only that you are in good health and not high risk. In keeping with the 6-foot social distancing guidelines, the maximum number of people allowed in the church is 125. For weekend Masses, we will offer 125 color coded tickets per Mass which will be available 8-6pm M-F from the ramp door entrance of church. If these pickup times do not work for you, call the Parish Office. Please pick up one ticket for each person in your household. You must have your ticket to be able to attend Mass.

We have combined the guidelines set by the State of Ken-tucky and our Diocese for those who choose to attend the Liturgy in person. It is the Church’s responsibility to protect every member as best we can and these guidelines are created out of love and re-spect for each of you. All attendees are required to wear masks with the exception

of children 3 years old and younger. If you are not comfortable, or children are not mature enough to wear a mask for the entire liturgy, you should continue to worship from home. We ask that you bring your own mask. If you do not have one, we will have one available for you outside of church.

Please use the side ramp door to enter the church and the front doors to exit.

Families are to be seated in the spaces marked throughout the sanctuary. Only every other pew will be utilized. The short pews on the sides will allow 2 people from the same household. Hos-pitality Ministers will help in guiding families to the appropriate seats which will be marked with a placard.

The cry room is not open for gathering. However, the restroom is available if needed. Only one person (unless family) is al-lowed in the cry room/restroom at a time. Others should wait outside the cry room door and maintain 6 feet between one another.

Because singing causes us to project our voices and therefore can propel the virus, the congregation is asked to refrain from singing. And to reduce risk, we will not use worship guides for the time being.

During the Our Father and Sign of Peace, please do not hold or shake hands with anyone outside of your family.

Offering baskets will be placed at the entrances to church. For the communion procession, a hospitality minister will

dismiss one row at a time. Parishioners are asked to keep 6 feet between the person in front of you and keep your mask on until the person in front of you receives the Eucharist. After consuming the Eucharist, replace your mask over your face and you may sanitize your hands before returning to your seat. Communion will be administered in the hands only.

For dismissal after church, hospitality ministers will dismiss each row beginning with the back of the church. Most everyone will be encouraged to exit through the front doors. However, those who need to use the side entrance will be able to use the ramp.

Are you interested in taking communion to those in your home who cannot attend Mass in person? Call the Parish Office at 270-683-5641 to sign up for training.

Word of Life

“Abortion affects countless marriages more than many people recognize. But there is no doubt that God will bring great healing to those who trust in his infinite mercy. If a past abortion can be acknowledged and addressed, a married couple can make great strides in experi-encing even more fully God’s design that ‘the two shall become one’ (Mt 19:5).”

An Act of Spiritual Communion My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacra-ment. I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramental-ly, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit

me to be separated from You. Amen.

—Miguel Arias, Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co..
