The target audience consists of 15 - 22 year olds. Starting with a lower age limit of 15 was chosen because I don’t think those younger than that would engage fully with the theme of my film: crime. This links with the films I studied for my deconstruction: both Avengers Assemble and Johnny English Reborn were tailored to a young adult audience. This is because Johnny English Reborn is more focused on the comedy elements and Avengers Assemble is predominantly about the superheroes’ stories. Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, however, had a more mature audience of over 25s I would say as it is closely focused on the plot of the spy and his actions. It is stereotypical for action/adventure films to be tailored to a male audience as they are known to be more interested in gritty films whereas females tend to sway to more romantic/emotional films. This is because men relate more to the stronger, more energetic world of action movies. However, by including a female lead character I think this may broaden the audience scope to females as well. Avengers Assemble used a strong female character - Black Widow - as one of the main characters. This will open the audience up to females also as it empowers women and shows they can be on the same platform as men, fighting equally. This is reinforced by her initial scene where she has been captured by an enemy yet still manages to fight 3 of them single handed. Due to the fact my target audience is 15 I wont be tailoring the film to any specific profession/income because the age group are not in full-time work/earning a substantial income. A ‘typical’ audience member for my production: ● Male or female ● Late teens or early twenties. ● Enjoys action and adventure or crime films.

A typical audience member for my production: Male or female Late teens or early twenties. Enjoys action and adventure or crime films. Finds interest in following a plot and figuring out bits of the characters profile/backstory along the way. No specific profession/income. May go to the cinema alone or with friends, no preference.
