BASIC SETUP - OVERVIEW

The following sections describe how to carry out theRAM Reset and the Initial Setup which are required toconfigure basic machine settings and to carry outjackpot configuration.

OverviewAtronic machines usually come configured as specifiedduring order processing. However it might benecessary to reconfigure basic machine settings, suchas denomination, metering, paytable, etc. Thesesettings can not be altered during normal operation,as they require a machine re-initialisation for technicalor jurisdictional reasons. Applying new progressivejackpot settings also requires a RAM Reset.

To reconfigure basic machine and jackpot settings:

1. Configure the CommboardThis is necessary only, if you have to alter the comm-board settings, such as progressive mode or chan-nel allocation.

2. Carry out a RAM Reset (incl. Commboard Clear)This will clear all machine data, statistics and set-tings, including progressive jackpot configuration.

3. Carry out the Initial SetupAfter a RAM Reset the machine automatically en-ters the Initial Setup menu. The Initial Setup al-lows to configure all basic machine setting.

4. Carry out (Progressive) Jackpot ConfigurationA PC or notebook with Atronic's Alink Config soft-ware is connected to the gaming machine anduploads the progressive jackpot configuration data.

Important: It is necessary to carry out the pro-gressive jackpot configuration directly after theInitial Setup. Do not insert credits before the jack-pot configuration data is uploaded.

In an Atronic Progressive Link™ (APL) the jackpotconfiguration has to be carried out at the APL ma-ster machine only. The jackpot configuration data isthen transferred to all linked APL slave machines.

BASIC SETUP

Note: Find more detailedinformation on commboardsetup and cabeling in the setupmanuals that refer to a certainlinked gaming product, such as"Hot Link™ - Setup andConfiguration".

The Accounting Denomination is always a commondivider of the Player Denominations.

Note: Handpays (that do not contain pro-gressive amounts) are reported to theaccounting system in amounts ofaccounting credits. Handpays with decimalvalues are rounded to full accountingcredits. If rounding occurs, a manualoverride of the handpay amount may benecessary. To avoid this, it is recommendedto set the accounting denomination to 0,01.

HANDPAY LIMIT

The setting Handpay Limit determines the thresholdfor jackpot handpays.

• A win that equals or exceeds this limit initiates ajackpot handpay. The machine locks and displays ajackpot presentation. An attendant has to carryout a handpay and acknowledge it by turning theJackpot Key.

• Win amouts below the Handpay Limit are payeddirectly to the credit meter or as configured bymeans of the celebration limit, if applicable.

Important: A top award win combination(5x top symbol) or a progressive win doesnot automatically initiate a handpay!

The win amount has to equal or exceed theadjusted Handpay Limit, in order to initiatea jackpot handpay.

The Handpay Limit can be activated/deactivated andadjusted separately for different types of wins

• paytable wins• progressive wins• total game wins (does not include bonus)• external bonus wins

Operators may adjust the limits in accordance withcasino requirements.

Note: You can also adjust the Handpay Limit later inthe "Service Menu / Settings / Game / Limit Settings"menu.

INITIAL SETUP

Note: When the handpay limitis set, the celebration limit isadjusted to the same valueautomatically, because thecelebration limit can not behigher than the handpay limit..Note: In certain jurisdictions(e.g. US jurisdictions), thehandpay limit is not adjustableand set to a fixed value.

CELEBRATION LIMIT

The Celebration Limit allows operators to configurean additional limit with selectable payout destination.

• A win that equals or exceeds the adjusted cele-bration limit locks the machine and starts a pre-sentation. An attendant must acknowledge the winby turning the jackpot key. The win amount is thenpaid out to the selected destination (handpay, vou-cher, host, credit meter), if applicable.

The celebration limit can be activated and adjustedseparately for different types of wins (paytable wins, progressive wins, total game wins, external bonus wins).

Destination set to HANDPAY:

• If set to HANDPAY, the celebration limit acts likethe handpay limit. Wins that are equal to or ex-ceed the adjusted limit are handled and meteredas jackpot handpays (see previous page).

Destination set to VOUCHER, HOST or CREDIT ME-TER:

• Important: When acknowledging celebrational wins, attendants have to make sure which is the actualpayout device and whether a handpay is necessa-ry. The payout device is stated on screen (alterna-ting with the win amount).

• Celebration limit wins actually paid out by VOU-CHER, to HOST or to the CREDIT METER, are notmetered as jackpot handpays.

• To allow celebration limit payouts by VOUCHER, toHOST or to the CREDIT METER, the host systemhas to support SAS poll A8 (enable jackpot hand-pay reset method). If poll A8 is not send by thehost, a jackpot handpay is initiated instead.

• If the host sends SAS poll A8, but the payout byVOUCHER or to HOST fails for other reasons, thewin amount is booked to the credit meter instead.

Note: You can also adjust the celebration limit later inthe "Service Menu / Settings / Game / Limit Settings"menu.

Note: The celebration limit cannot be higher than the handpaylimit. When a handpay limit wasset, you can not adjust thecelebration limit to valueshigher than the handpay limit.

The celebration limit can be activated and adjustedseparately for different types of wins (paytable wins, progressive wins, total game wins, external bonus wins).

Destination set to HANDPAY:

• If set to HANDPAY, the celebration limit acts likethe handpay limit. Wins that are equal to or ex-ceed the adjusted limit are handled and meteredas jackpot handpays.

Destination set to VOUCHER, HOST or CREDITMETER:

• Important: When acknowledging celebrational wins, attendants have to make sure which is the actualpayout device and whether a handpay is necessa-ry. The payout device is stated on screen (alterna-ting with the win amount).

• Celebration limit wins actually paid out by VOU-CHER, to HOST or to the CREDIT METER, are notmetered as jackpot handpays.

3.4.2 PROGRESSIVE SPLIT INFORMATIONThis menu displays the distribution of progressivejackpot increments for a multilevel jackpot game, whenusing APL2 mode (Atronic Progressive Link™ II).

With APL2 a jackpot level can only raise up to thebase value of the next higher jackpot level. If a jackpotlevel reaches this limit, the incrementing of this levelis blocked and the increments are redistributed toanother level. This process is called a split.

Whenever a split happens, the increments of theblocked level are redistributed to the lowest possiblejackpot level.

For example:Jackpot level 3 reaches the base value of jackpot level2. The increments of level 3 are now added to jackpotlevel 4, as this is the lowest possible jackpot level.

With 4 jackpot levels there are several combinationsof blocked increments possible. Each possiblecombination is metered in a seperate split statisticSplit 0 to Split 15. The percentage values in the greencolumns indicates the increment redistribution for thissplit. Split 0 is the default distribution as defined duringjackpot configuration.

When a jackpot level was hit, the incrementing startsagain on this level and the metering is again done onthe split statistic that refers to the recent distributionof increments.

For example:Incrementing of level 3 is blocked, the other levels areactive. Statistics are metered on Split 2. After ajackpot hit on level 3, the incrementing on this levelstarts again. Statistics are metered on Split 0.

Note: The base values of ajackpot level can be reviewed inmenu Jackpot Statistics.

Note: Jackpot level 1 is thehighest level (highest amount).Jackpot level 4 is the lowestlevel.
