Individual and Sibling PhotographsPret-a-Portrait Photography will be in school on Monday 1st November to take individual and sibling photographs. You will receive a proof card and orders should be placed online. Children in classes 4 to 11 should wear their winter uniform with their blazer. Please ensure that your child is wearing the correct uniform and, if applicable, has their blazer in school. Children in class 3 will wear their winter uniform.

Class 10 tripOn Thursday 8th November, the children in class 10 will visit Hampton Court, in support of their study of the Tudors in History.

Pre-Prep Celebration of DiwaliOn Thursday 8th November, the children in the Pre-Preparatory Department will celebrate Diwali with a day of workshops and activities.

School DiscoOur very popular School Disco for children in classes 5-11 will take place on Friday 9th November. Further details will follow.

Parent ConsultationsIn the autumn term, parent consultations will take place as follows:

Tuesday 13th November 3.00 – 6pm classes 3C, 4J, 5B, 6P and 7GWednesday 14th November 3.00 – 6pm classes 3T, 4K, 4D, 5P, 6L, 6N and 7N

Please note the following:

Parent Consultations must be booked online using your unique code. No consultations may be booked after the deadline has passed. Parents must stick to their allocated appointment time. If you do not have an appointment, unfortunately you will not be seen. Children (of any age) should not accompany you to parent consultations.

Book FairThe Book Fair will be in school between Wednesday 14th and Wednesday 21st November. It will open before and after school each day.

Class 4 Parents’ Open MorningOn Thursday 15th November between 9.00am and 10.00am, we would like to invite parents of our class 4 children to an Open Morning. You will receive a tour of classes 5 – 11 and key members of staff will be on hand to answer any questions you may have.

Children in NeedOn Friday 16th November, we will be fundraising for Children in Need. We will be holding a Christmas Craft Fair between 3.30pm and 5.30pm. Some of the children will be running a Cake Sale and a Second-Hand Book Sale. Donations of second-hand books, in good condition, would be very welcome and we would appreciate donations of cakes from Thursday 15th November. All proceeds will go to Children in Need. In addition, there will be independent craft stalls for you to peruse.

Tuck ShopThe Friends of Broughton will be running a Tuck Shop for children in classes 5-11, between 8am and 9am on Friday 16th November.

Flu InoculationsFlu Inoculations for children in classes 5 to 10 will take place on Thursday 22nd November.

2s into 3s MeetingA meeting will be held on Monday 26th November at 8.30am for parents of children moving from the nursery into class 3 in January 2019.

Head of Bedford Girls’ School VisitOn Tuesday 27th November, Miss MacKenzie, the headmistress of Bedford Girls’ School will be visiting Broughton Manor to talk to the parents of girls in Year 6.

Class 5 tripOn Wednesday 28th November, class 5 will visit Waddesdon Manor.

Christmas Decorations – Mufti DayOn Friday 30th November children will not wear school uniform. During the day, the children will help staff to decorate the school in preparation for Christmas. Please send your child in clothing suitable for art and craft activities and ensure your child has a warm coat and sensible shoes for outdoor play. No football shirts or fancy-dress costumes please.

Christmas Productions

Preparatory DepartmentOur Preparatory department productions will take place on Tuesday 4th December as follows:

1. Matinee Performance at 2.30pm2. Evening Performance at 6.00pm

(parents are invited to join us from 5.30pm for drinks).

Please note that due to the Christmas productions, there will be no ballet, Teddy Tennis or karate during the week beginning Monday 3rd December.

Extra-Curricular Clubs There will no after school clubs during the week beginning Monday 3rd December.

Theatre ProductionOn Thursday 6th December, we welcome the West Midlands Theatre Company who will perform a production of ‘Old King Cole’ for children in classes 5 to 11.

Pre-Preparatory Department Christmas Concerts The Pre-Preparatory Department Christmas Concerts will take place on Friday 7th December as follows:

After School ClubsThe last ballet, Teddy Tennis and karate lessons will take place during the week beginning Monday 10th December.

Christingle ServiceThe children in classes 5, 6 and 7 will take part in a Christingle Service at St Lawrence’s Church during the afternoon of Tuesday 11th December.

Class 11 TripOn Thursday 13th December, the children in class 11 will spend the day at Cadbury’s World, in support of their history curriculum.

Christmas Class Parties in the Nursery and Pre-Prep departmentsChildren in classes 3 to 7 will have Christmas parties on Friday 14th December and therefore may come to school dressed in party clothes. Children in class 3 who do not normally attend school on a Friday, may attend for the morning’s festivities on this day. These children should be collected at 1.00pm. [Please note this is a change of date].

Tuck ShopThe Friends of Broughton will be running a Tuck Shop for children in classes 5-11, between 8am and 9am on Friday 14th December.

Christmas Jumper DayOn Tuesday 18th December, we will be taking part in Save the Children’s Christmas Jumper Day. For a donation of £1, children may come to school wearing a Christmas jumper with their school uniform.

End of term On Tuesday 18th December, the children will enjoy Christmas Lunch. Parents are invited to join us for the End of Term Assembly from 2.30pm. You are welcome to take your children home at the end of the assembly.

StevensonsStevensons will be in school on Wednesday 19th December between 8.00am and 11.30am.

Christmas PlayschemeThe nursery will remain open and children may attend playscheme on Wednesday 19th December.

Please note that on Wednesday 19th December the building closes at 4pm.

Spring Term 2018The nursery and playscheme (for those who have booked) will reopen on Thursday 3rd January 2019.

The first day of the spring term will be Tuesday 8th January 2019.
