Dear Aspirants,

I wish you all the very best for the coming year. Voltaire had once said, “If we want people to speak good of us, we must be good”. Carrying the legacy of commitment and dedication, HMV Collegiate School is doing commendable job in reaching the pinnacle in academics and also striking a balance between Vedic wisdom and modernity to create holistic and enlightened citizens of the world.

I pray to the almighty:

“Aap khush Raho, Khushal Raho, Abaad Raho, Azad Raho”

Keep Smiling

JAI HIND

Dear Young Learners,

At HMV, we realize our responsibility of nurturing the curiosity of our students, igniting their minds to pierce the skies, helping them to discover the new horizons outside and the depth of the world within. To execute the glorious task of mentoring the students, well trained teachers are at the helm, steering the ship of student's destiny towards commendable zeniths. Students are encouraged to explore and revel in the joy of learning.

We give our students wings of ambitions, so that they can soar high like falcons to touch the skies and endeavor to make them global citizens who can look beyond the boundaries and be ready to take a plunge into the highly competitive world.

I whole-heartedly welcome you to the HMV family, together we can train young minds to yearn for knowledge.

Swami Dayanand Saraswati is the founder of DAV

movement. He is also the founder of the Arya Samaj that

brought changes in the religious perception of Indians. He

worked towards reviving Vedic ideologies and brought a

complete overhaul of education system by introducing

Anglo Vedic schools to offer Indian students an updated

curriculum, teaching both the knowledge of the Vedas

along with contemporary English education. He was given

the epithet of Maharishi and is considered as one of the

makers of modern India.

Mahatma Hans Raj is a distinguished educationist and

follower of Swami Dayanand and Arya Samaj. He laid

the foundation of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya in the

year 1927 at Lahore. After partition, the institution was

shifted to Jalandhar in 1948. The Spartan simplicity of

Mahatma Hans Raj's life is exemplary and he continues to

inspire us to bring about changes in sync with the global

scenario of education.

A program of National Science Council for Science and Technology Communication was organized by the Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India. The people from different disciplines, different ages and different expectations came together and talked about new arenas of science and technology. Around 15 schools participated in this science congress. The sole objective of the session was to stimulate scientific temperament and enable the students to show their creativity and innovation.

Keeping in mind the grave condition of mother earth it has become need of the hour to sensitize students about their duty to keep our earth clean and green. It is the responsibility of every Indian citizen to keep our nation clean. For strengthening our bond with nature our school has taken a small initiative to recycle a lot of things which are labelled as dump are used for growing plants.

The science faculty organized an innovative programme sponsored by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India to attract the talented students towards science. More than 200 students from about 15 schools from various districts of Punjab attended the camp this year. The camp comprised lectures, interactive sessions, video lectures, hands-on practical sessions and workshops by the experts from various disciplines .The eminent scientists from various academic institutes from India including Panjab University Chandigarh, GNDU, Amritsar, Jamia Millia Islamia University New Delhi, Kurukshetra University, Indian Institute of Science Education Research Mohali, IKG Punjab Technical University Kapurthala, IIT Kanpur and CSIO Chandigarh were the affable mentors of the camp.

To imbibe the true spirit of learning and to spot the latent talent in the students, various clubs and societies have been established in the school to envisage the development of talent in co-curricular activities like music, dance, oratory skills, theater and various other fields. These societies provide ample opportunities to the students to showcase their talent through cultural events and competitions held round the year.
