Sandwiches are placed in the HPC refrigerator each Wednesday, then taken down to 1730 Race Street early each Thursday AMby one of our HPC volunteer drivers. Would you help by providing somemeat sandwiches on a Wednesday or two between now and the end of the year?

TheSandwich Mission is needed and appreciated in these times of severe economic trouble for so many of God’s people. If you can participate by making and bringing sandwiches to HPC in a future week, please let Nelson Kennedy know, and he will schedule you for an upcoming Wednesday. (Thanksgiving Wednesday, 11-25-2020, is excluded.) “For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in,” Matthew 25:35

Interfaith Hospitality Network-Warren County Appreciates You!IHN-WC is very appreciative of all the extra support that we have provided over the past few months. IHN-WC has now received the second of two grants from Ohio that puts it in a good position to provide up to five hotel rooms for homeless people thru the end of the pandemic, if the pandemic ends before 5-31-2020. Short term, this has taken a lot of pressure off of IHN-WC budget.

IHN-WC always runs on a tight budget. Homelessness in Warren County is expected to grow over the remainder of the year. Gifts of $33 or multiples or of Any amount are still welcome and appreciated.

Faith Emergency Services (FES) has a “Community Cupboard” where local needyfamilies can get food (mostly canned or boxed) to take home & prepare. Your Mission Committee has agreed to a request from FES to take our turn and stock the Community Cupboard in the month of October. Please help by donating items on the “Priority Wish List” below, to our FES Food Table located in the Atrium. We need to start collecting food in September, so that we have enough to help in October!

Due to the pandemic, requests for help are way up. (See the the September “Good News” newsletter, page 8.)

Faith Emergency Services (FES) is an organization created by a group of seven Mason churches (including HPC) to provide emergency help to area families who in emergencies need help with: rent or housing, utility bills, food, and medicines.

Hurricane Relief for Westminster Presbyterian Church

Laura Lee Gayfield was an elder at HPC before job changes led her and her husband from Mason. For the last several years she and her family have lived in Sulphur, LA near the Gulf Coast and are active in a Presbyterian Church there.Their church, Westminster Presbyterian Church, suffered roof and other damage from Hurricane Laura. The church has insurance, but it is a high deductible. They are asking for some help with that deductible. Westminster continue to function with worship and service to their hard-hit community. Visit their Go Fund Me page at: https://www.gofundme.com/f/sulphur-church-hurricane-laura-recovery?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=p_cp%20share-sheet&fbclid=IwAR2et4YXNZDfetkTGSv-mPM0pRZO1XO-rk17ctmjU28joLAjHe6U3-lT7V0.
