AMERICAN SCHOOL OF PARIS After School Activities - Fall 2013
1
Dear Lower School and Middle School Parents, Our After School Activities program for the first semester 2013-‐14 will start on September 30, 2013 and end on December 13, 2013. Please browse through the various offerings for Lower School and Middle School ASP students and feel free to contact us if you have questions at [email protected] or 01.41.12.80.40. All activities will feature a bilingual (English-‐French) environment that celebrates our international community. In order to offer your children the best possible services (a minimum number of registered students is required to open each activity), we would ask you to register later than September 20, 2013. Please fill out the registration form (last page) and the 5:15pm Bus Information if you would like your child to take the late bus (page 6/7 – NB: No Grade 2 children are allowed to take the bus-‐the child must be picked up by an authorized adult at ASP) and return the forms with your payment to the Lower or Middle School Office or in the Extension Program mailbox at reception. Wishing you a happy 2013-‐14 school year at ASP, Michèle Calon [email protected] Extension Program, Interim Director on behalf of Laurence Feniou, Founder-‐Director Extension Program

Engineering FUN-‐damentals with LEGO A cool way to learn basic building techniques and an introduction to mechanical, architecture and design principles and of course, lots of LEGO fun! New projects are introduced each week from a merry-‐go-‐round to a scale bedroom. Cuisinons en Français (Cooking in French) Do you like “croissants”, “pain au chocolat” or “tarte aux pommes” ? Cooking in French initiates participants to traditional French recipes; prep and cook and especially enjoy a variety of yummy flavors. Creative Writing and Poetry This writing workshop is ideal for students who like to explore their creative potential. The classes expose students to a variety of writing examples and give them the possibility to experiment with their own works in a friendly and open environment. Cricket The cricket workshop guides students through the fundamentals of the game and equips them with the necessary skills to participate in games and practice. More experienced players are coached to develop their technique. All skill levels are welcome! Creative Dance and Self Expression (Lower School) Have fun and move to music but be secretly working on developing coordination, and the awareness of rhythm and space while listening to different types of music. Creative Dance (Middle School)
Boys and girls learn how to create and perform dances. Learn to listen and respond to different types of music; develop coordination, awareness of rhythm, space and self-‐expression through movement.
Art Club Students can discover the many facets of studio art and create their own works of art: drawing, recycled art, paper-‐mâché and ceramics. Tennis (at Stade de la Marche –Forest Hill, Vaucresson – Shuttle provided) An innovative and effective pedagogy is provided by a team of qualified teachers and enthusiasts. Tennis players of all levels are welcome. This new activity is offered in partnership with the Player’s Tennis and Golf Academy. Golf (at Paris Golf Country Club – Saint-‐Cloud – Shuttle provided)
Students can learn the basics of golf or improve their skill level. Lessons take place at the Paris Golf and Country Club in Saint Cloud and are offered in partnership with the Player’s Tennis and Golf Academy.
