     Dear  Lower  School  and  Middle  School  Parents,      Our  After  School  Activities  program  for  the  first  semester  2013-­‐14  will  start  on  September  30,  2013  and  end  on  December  13,  2013.    Please  browse  through  the  various  offerings  for  Lower  School  and  Middle  School  ASP  students  and  feel  free  to  contact  us  if  you  have  questions  at  [email protected]  or  01.41.12.80.40.    All  activities  will  feature  a  bilingual  (English-­‐French)  environment  that  celebrates  our  international  community.      In  order  to  offer  your  children  the  best  possible  services  (a  minimum  number  of  registered  students  is  required  to  open  each  activity),  we  would  ask  you  to  register  later  than  September  20,  2013.    Please  fill  out  the  registration  form  (last  page)  and  the  5:15pm  Bus  Information  if  you  would  like  your  child  to  take  the  late  bus  (page  6/7  –  NB:  No  Grade  2  children  are  allowed  to  take  the  bus-­‐the  child  must  be  picked  up  by  an  authorized  adult  at  ASP)  and  return  the  forms  with  your  payment  to  the  Lower  or  Middle  School  Office  or  in  the  Extension  Program  mailbox  at  reception.      Wishing  you  a  happy  2013-­‐14  school  year  at  ASP,    Michèle  Calon    [email protected]    Extension  Program,  Interim  Director    on  behalf  of    Laurence  Feniou,  Founder-­‐Director  Extension  Program

       Engineering  FUN-­‐damentals  with  LEGO           A  cool  way  to  learn  basic  building  techniques  and  an  introduction  to  mechanical,  architecture  and  design  principles  and  of  course,  lots  of  LEGO  fun!  New  projects  are  introduced  each  week  from  a  merry-­‐go-­‐round  to  a  scale  bedroom.      Cuisinons  en  Français  (Cooking  in  French)     Do  you  like  “croissants”,  “pain  au  chocolat”  or  “tarte  aux  pommes”  ?  Cooking  in  French  initiates  participants  to  traditional  French  recipes;  prep  and  cook  and  especially  enjoy  a  variety  of  yummy  flavors.      Creative  Writing  and  Poetry       This  writing  workshop  is  ideal  for  students  who  like  to  explore  their  creative  potential.  The  classes  expose  students  to  a  variety  of  writing  examples  and  give  them  the  possibility  to  experiment  with  their  own  works  in  a  friendly  and  open  environment.      Cricket     The  cricket  workshop  guides  students  through  the  fundamentals  of  the  game  and  equips  them  with  the  necessary  skills  to  participate  in  games  and  practice.    More  experienced  players  are  coached  to  develop  their  technique.  All  skill  levels  are  welcome!      Creative  Dance  and  Self  Expression  (Lower  School)     Have  fun  and  move  to  music  but  be  secretly  working  on  developing  coordination,    and  the  awareness  of  rhythm  and  space  while  listening  to  different  types  of  music.      Creative  Dance  (Middle  School)  

 Boys  and  girls  learn  how  to  create  and  perform  dances.  Learn  to  listen  and  respond  to  different  types  of  music;  develop  coordination,  awareness  of  rhythm,  space  and  self-­‐expression  through  movement.  

 Art  Club     Students  can  discover  the  many  facets  of  studio  art  and  create  their  own  works  of  art:  drawing,  recycled  art,  paper-­‐mâché  and  ceramics.      Tennis    (at  Stade  de  la  Marche  –Forest  Hill,  Vaucresson  –  Shuttle  provided)     An  innovative  and  effective  pedagogy  is  provided  by  a  team  of  qualified  teachers  and  enthusiasts.  Tennis  players  of  all  levels  are  welcome.  This  new  activity  is  offered  in  partnership  with  the  Player’s  Tennis  and  Golf  Academy.      Golf    (at  Paris  Golf  Country  Club  –  Saint-­‐Cloud  –  Shuttle  provided)  

Students  can  learn  the  basics  of  golf  or  improve  their  skill  level.  Lessons  take  place  at  the  Paris  Golf  and  Country  Club  in  Saint  Cloud  and  are  offered  in  partnership  with  the  Player’s  Tennis  and  Golf  Academy.
