Immerse yourself into traditional ancient Chineseculture and history expressed through movementand dance. Allow the professional art troupe, all theway from China, to lead you through Chinesehistorical events through the avenue of dance.

In Japan, in the era of the silent movie, audiencesbenefited from a live narrator, the Benshi, whoexplained what was happening on the screen. TheBenshi were the stars of the show, until 'the talkies'killed them off, never to be seen again...

Globally acclaimed Stan's Cafe have shot a silentfilm with Japanese actors in and around Tokyo. TheBenshi will prove that theatre is more powerful thanfilm and that you should never fall in love with amovie star.

John Spiers

John Spiers is a melodeon and concertina playerand also a composer with a passion for traditionalmusic. As part of a duo with Jon Boden they sawtheir popularity rise from folk clubs to festival crowd-pleasers. This partnership was eventually expandedfor a project that became known as Bellowhead. Upuntil 2014, Spiers and Boden also continued to toursuccessfully and have produced 6 studio albums.

Mixing infectious dance tunes with incrediblysensitive and moving slow airs, John’s solo showsare a mixture of traditional material and his owncompositions, interspersed with humorous andinformative banter.

The Canterbury Tales switch seamlessly betweenmoments of laugh-out-loud silliness and seriousquestions about the extent to which society hasreally moved on since the time of Chaucer’s writing.Impulse Collective have adapted the text to suit amodern audience, but fans of Chaucer’s writing willfind much to love in a whistle-stop tour through thestories.

I loved you and I loved you is the true story of ayoung welsh composer called Morfydd Owen, wholived almost 100 years ago. The Internationally acclaimed Pearl of AfricaChildren's Choir return to our shores to completeanother amazing UK Tour.

An evocative mix of traditional Ugandan song anddance, with high octane music, dance anddrumming containing infectious rhythms, enthusiasticvocals and dynamic dramatisation.

These orphaned or destitute children are ambassadorsfor hundreds of similar children back home inUganda. They visit the UK to raise awareness andthe desperately needed funds to help sustain andimprove the standard of education, healthcare andliving standards in their schools.

Little Frankenstein a gentle, little horror for little horrors!

Frank Stein is busy rehearsing his new showGeorge the Dragon Slayer but he's finding itreally difficult because his badly madepuppets keep falling apart! Taking inspirationfrom the scientist Dr Frankenstein, he createsa new real live puppet that is destined tochange this life forever!

Creature George emerges from the workshop,but Frank is so intent on the planned rehearsalof his new show that he neglects to look afterhis new child.

Holly Pester

Holly Pester is a poet, critic and practice-basedresearcher. Her doctoral research at Birkbeck, Universityof London examined the poetics of noise and soundmedia-driven poetry. Her current research seeks todevelop innovative practice-led research methodologiesin relation to feminist archive theory. Her book ongossip and anecdote as forms of archive enquiry waspublished by Book Works, 2015 and was developedthrough a residency at the Women’s Art Library atGoldsmiths College’s Special Collections with ArtsCouncil England support. She currently teaches onOulipo and the Avant-Garde and Poetic Practice at theUniversity of Essex.
