Dear Church Family,
Happy New Year! My prayer for our church family is that 2015
will be a year where God is greatly glorified through us, a year
that sees us grow deeper in our love for the Lord and for each
other, and a year that sees us powerfully used by Him to ex-
pand His Kingdom in Sussex County and beyond. I wanted
to take this first article of the new year to point you toward
several resources that you might find helpful in your walk
with the Lord this year.
First, the LFC family will be joining together in 2015 to read
through the Bible together. On the last Sunday in December,
we will have reading plans available for you to pick up. We
will also have the reading plan on our website. What a joy it
will be to journey through the Word together! We will also be
using some part of the previous week’s Bible reading during
our worship service.
Second, here are a few resources you might find helpful in
your Christian walk. People often ask me what websites,
resources, books, etc. that I find helpful in my own walk. Here
are a few:
equip.org-One of my favorite sites for Bible answers,
understanding and identifying false teachings, cults,
and other aberrant teachings. Hank Hanegraaff is
one of my favorite authors and speakers, and I try to
listen regularly to his “Bible Answer Man” broadcast.
A W O R D F R O M O U R S E N I O R P A S T O R . . .
Tabletalk magazine-This is a publication of Ligonier Min-
istries and R.C. Sproul. This monthly magazine is
filled with excellent articles, many by R.C. Sproul,
around a theme, along with a daily devotional read-
ing for each day of the month.
New Morning Mercies: A Daily Gospel Devotional: This
is a new Gospel-focused daily devotional book by
Paul Tripp. I have read through parts of this book,
and like it enough that our family is going to use it as
part of our daily family devotional time.
Everyone’s A Theologian: This is a great systematic
theology book by R.C. Sproul that is extremely read-
able without sacrificing depth. If you are looking to
getting a better grasp on the basic doctrines of the
Bible, this book would be extremely helpful. This is a
book being used in the adult Sunday School class led
by Jon Deming.
rzim.org-This is the apologetics website of Ravi Zachari-
as International Ministries. On this site you can ac-
cess blog articles, apologetics studies, podcasts, au-
dio courses, and much more.

JANUARY/FEBRUARY 2015
ATTENTION LFC WOMEN: SAVE THE DATE!
Saturday, March 7, 2015
This spring LFC Women’s Ministries will host inspirational speaker and author Kimberly Kirk as she explores the topic TALKING WITH GOD: Principles from Powerful Prayers.
Kimberly Kirk has been teaching the scriptures for over twenty-three years and has had a speaking ministry
since 1997. Kimberly enjoys digging into the Scriptures to allow the Lord to reveal His truths and Himself to us. Her heart’s desire is to see women catch a broader glimpse of who God really is, and for them to get to know Him more
deeply-not just learn more about Him.
In 2003, Kimberly wrote a Bible study workbook on the Acts, To Know Him More: Seeking God Through the Book of Acts . Since then, she has written three other in-depth workbooks on Romans, Exodus, and I and II Corinthians,
and a six week topical Bible study called Snapshots of Issues and Answers. She has also written a daily devotional, a collection of inspiring dramas, and has put together video and audio teaching series.
In January of 2008, Kimberly was diagnosed with breast cancer and faced major surgery to combat the disease.
It has been a long and difficult journey, but she is happy to report that she is cancer free! Kimberly praises the Lord for all that He has brought her through, and how He blessed and encouraged her each step of the way. She kept a journal which God led her to make into a book entitled The Journey: A Testimony of God's Faithfulness Through My Battle with
Breast Cancer, and Kimberly is both humbled and excited to see how our Lord may choose to use it, for His glory.
To learn more about Kimberly, please visit her website at kimberlyKirk.com.
Please join us for a wonderful day of fellowship, praising God and studying His word!
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you,
plans to give you hope and a future.”

There are a number of exciting things happening within
the student ministry. We have a few new leaders who
have stepped in and have begun helping (and doing a
great job I might add!) Jennie Clinton and Chris Deming
have both begun investing time in the youth ministry and
we are so glad to have them on board!
We have also been enjoying and getting accustomed to
our new Saturday night schedule with both Jr. and Sr.
High meeting on the same night. We have already seen
some of the benefits of this new schedule and it seems to
be working well. One of the key benefits of meeting on
the same night is that from a teaching standpoint. We
can focus on some of the same things and streamline our
efforts. We are into our second video series this school
year. The first was based on the movie “God’s not dead”
and was centered around challenging our students to
take a stand for Christ. The second that we are still going
through is simply title “King David: Trials, Temptations
and Triumphs”. It is a great study lead by David Nasser,
and it helps the students to see where David was faithful
to the Word of God and where he struggled. I believe this
is a vitally important study for our kids in helping them to
know how to avoid some of the pitfalls that David fell
into, but also to see how they can be a little more bold for
Jesus. We are also looking forward to moving into a
study on apologetics and answering tough questions
about the Bible after we complete this series.

LAFAYETTE FEDERATED CHURCH
FINANCIAL INFORMATION:
Total Income: $1,103,109.09
Total Expenses: $1,062.004.82
Budget: $986,447.00
In response to our church family taking a step of faith with this year’s budget, we want to faithfully keep the congregation
informed to the status of where we stand in giving compared to budget and expenses. Please prayerfully consider remaining
faithful in your regular giving commitment.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you,
plans to give you hope and a future.”
Jeremiah 29:11
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you,
plans to give you hope and a future.”

And of course at this time of year the focus is on retreats.
The Jr. High Winter Retreat is almost here (Jan. 9th-11th),
and our students are getting very excited. We will be
heading out to Camp Orchard Hill again this year and
look forward to the ways that God will use that weekend
to impact these students. The Sr. High Retreat is going to
be from February 13th-16th at Camp Spofford. Our Sr.
High Leaders do a fantastic job in organizing and putting
together all of the details for that retreat. All of the hard
work is worth it as we get to enjoy watching the kids have
fun, but also really engaging on a spiritual level and draw-
ing closer to Jesus during the trip.
And as always, I ask you to continue to pray for our
students. If you don’t already, would you consider includ-
ing them in your regular time of prayer? The more I am
involved in ministry to students, the more I realize how
valuable these retreats, Bible study settings, and small
groups are in the lives of these students, not only now,
but for years to come. Please pray for them to draw close
to Jesus!
All for Him!
Ryan

various kinds of insurance.
March 2 – Michael Strada, Sussex County Sheriff will speak on
the role and duties of the sheriff’s department.
The Joy Club welcomes anyone 55 or over to join us on the
first Monday of each month for a delicious pot luck luncheon
and interesting program from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at LFC church.
During the winter months, if the weather is bad, J.O.Y. club will
be cancelled. If weather is “iffy” – use your own judgment about
coming or call the office (973/383-4461) or Janet Neidhardt
(973/948-2576) about cancellations.
Reminder: bring an item for our food pantry that serves many in
our community who struggle in this difficult economy.

It is with great gratitude that I wish to thank a few people
who have put in a lot of prayer, time and effort into our
Christmas season. I first want to mention Carol Casserly
and our Worship Arts Committee for their tireless efforts in
support and development of our ministry. I am not men-
tioning these people in any particular order of importance,
but I would like to say thank you to your technical teams,
headed by John Faber. Tom Smith and Kyle Broesder
contributed so much to our Christmas musical, “Three
Gifts.” We would not have had anywhere close to the ex-
cellence of presentation without them technical abilities
and support. But the group of people who are such a
blessing to me with their commitment and hard work over
several months of rehearsals and preparations is the choir.
They work so hard, not only during rehearsals, but for
hours outside of our rehearsals, memorizing all the music
and words. Their love for the Lord and desire to share
God’s love and the gospel with the people of our commu-
nity is such a blessing. It’s a privilege to stand before
them each week and receive the blessing of their joy of
singing praises to the Lord.
I also wish to thank Karon Bailey and Peggy Gardener for
their assistance and leadership with working with the
narration and Pat and Lisa Kaelblein, who do such an
outstanding job of communicating the story and connect-
ing the message of each song to God’s love! I also want
to thank Karon Bailey for directing the children, and the
children for their beautiful singing as well. I can’t end my
listing of thank you’s without mentioning Olga and Turid in
the office. They put so much time and effort into the print
and details before the musical performances. Lastly and
most of all, I thank our Lord for guidance and blessings.
All is done to His glory and praise. The Lord Jesus is the
reason we do what we do. Along with you, we desire to lift
up His name and spread the word about His great love for
all people!
I look forward to a wonderful new year of ministry, of wor-
ship and praise, and service to the King of kings, our Sav-
ior, our Lord Jesus Christ! All praise be to God!

“Revive” magazine-This is the publication of Life Action
Ministries, a ministry committed to “igniting movements
of authentic Christianity.” This quarterly journal is free,
though you have an opportunity to support the ministry.
Along with the publication, I would suggest their website
lifeaction.org, as well. The site offers some powerful
teaching, studies, and other resources all focused around
awakening genuine revival in our hearts, churches and
culture.
I hope these are help and a benefit in your walk with the
Lord. I must emphasize this, however: no website, book,
or devotional can be a substitute for your personal time
digging in the Word of God, your passionate and faithful
prayer life, the time spent in the encouraging presence of
brothers and sisters in Christ at church, and using your
gifts and talents to serve. These are the foundations for
your walk with Christ. Let the above listed resources be a
supplement to those, but never a substitute. I’m looking
forward to this new year upon us. May God bless and use
us as we do all things for His glory this year.
In Christ,
Pastor Aaron

Wow! It is hard to believe another year has gone by!
Happy New Year!!! As I sat down to write my article, I
got thinking about how fast the year went by, and then
about all the things I hoped to do, but never got a chance
to do. Then I thought of something really cool... Every
day that goes by, we are one day closer to our Lord’s
return!! Now that’s an incredible thought. While we look
forward to that glorious day let’s keep busy serving Him
with each day He gives us!
That is one thing we do well here at LFC, “serve”. I want
to take this moment to thank everyone who serves in all
of the many ministries that go on at LFC, week in and
week out. I am truly blessed to be able to walk the halls
of this church almost every day and hear the sounds of
fellowship, sharing, teaching, praying, crying and laugh-
ing of “family.” Thank you so much for allowing me the
privilege of serving you here at LFC. I am looking forward
to another great year of serving side by side with you as
we strive to further God's Kingdom.
With the thought of how busy our church can be, I want
to remind all of our ministries that you need to allow
yourself time to set up your rooms. We do our best to
keep the rooms set up with tables and chairs; however,
there are times that they need to be moved to other loca-
tions for special events. If you remove any tables or
chairs from a room for a special event, you need to return
them at the completion of your event. It is not the staff’s
responsibility to set up or break down for special events.
Also we want to be good stewards of what God has given
us, and you can help by turning lights off when you’re
done, making sure the rooms are straightened up, and
locking up the church if you are the last to leave.
We are excited about some projects and events that will
be happening at LFC these first few months of the year:
The Narthex renovations should start in January. We
have raised over $9,000 so far. This will be a great
chance to update our Narthex and make it more
inviting and functional.
January 16th we will be having a “Couples Night Out”
at church. We will be having songwriter and comedi-
an Mark Cable here performing, so come on out for
some great fellowship, food and entertainment.
Watch for sign ups and start time in the near future.
Our Divorce Care program is in need of another
couple to help facilitate the meetings. If you have
felt God calling you to get involved in this ministry
or would like more information, contact: Peggy
Gardner at [email protected], or call her at
862-268-6244.
In Christ’s Service,
Glenn
