Interdisciplinary Studies (IDS) students work with their adviser to customize their degree from multiple disciplines. Graduates learn to creatively respond to complex organizational issues or societal problems.

Between the college admissions process, testing, graduation, and more, it is easy to feel overwhelmed. When it comes to college planning, A-State is here to help. Use this checklist as a guide to navigate through your senior year as you move one step closer to becoming part of the pack!
HAPPENING NOWo Visit campus!o Apply for admission and request that your six- semester transcript be sent to A-State, along with any ACT or SAT scores you may have (remember, A-State will superscore). You can apply at AState.edu/ApplyNowo Follow @AStateAdmission on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and SnapChat to stay up-to-date on the latest information and giveaways.o Ask for recommendation letters from teachers, employers or organization leaders. These letters will be useful if you plan to apply for scholarships for which they are required.o Once you have been admitted, share your admissions packet with our Chancellor, Dr. Damphousse, on social media. Tag him @kdamp on Facebook, Twitter, and SnapChat or @kdamp63 on Instagram.o FAFSA submission is now open. Complete your FAFSA online at www.FAFSA.ed.gov. A-State’s code: 001090o Meet with your A-State Admissions Counselor at a local college fair or at your high school during their visit.o Residence Life portal opens November 1. Housing applications will now be accepted.o Once you have been admitted, make your $100 housing pre-payment and complete the initial housing application. This will get you in line for housing registration, as it is first-come, first-serve. (Housing registration begins in April. Since more than 1,100 freshmen live on campus, it is important to be in line for housing registration early to have a better chance at being placed in your first choice for a residence hall.)o If you are eligible, apply for the A-State Scholar scholarship. The A-State Scholar application requires a student résumé, personal essay and two recommendation letters. You can apply at AState.edu/AStateScholar
NOVEMBERo Register for the December ACT exam. The regular registration deadline is Nov. 8. The December ACT test scores are the last A-State accepts for priority scholarship consideration. Have your scores sent to A-State using the code 0116.o REMEMBER, you must be fully admitted to the university by Dec. 1, 2019, to be eligible for priority consideration for institutional scholarships.
DECEMBERo DEADLINE: DECEMBER 1 A-State’s Institutional Scholarship priority deadline. Scholarship award letters are sent to students beginning the third week of December.o Applications for A-State’s Privately Funded Scholarships become available. While not required, additional documents such as a student résumé, personal statement, and recommendation letters are encouraged. Apply at AState.edu/Scholarshipso Take the ACT. The exam date is Dec. 14.
