Architecture | Urban Design
Just received my bachelor certificate from theUniversity of Stuttgart last June. Had my 7th se-mester in GUC Berlin. I have been working as a junior teaching assistant in (introduction to Ar-chitectural design) with Prof. Dr. Florian Seidel.
Attempting to further my education outside the realm of my collegiate experiences through an internship in the professional field of architecture and urban design. I firmly believe that an internship will help me grow as an architect, a student, and as an individual, and will assist me to transition into the professional field. In turn I believe that my abilities would be an asset to any firm. I am a quick learn-er, an attentive listener, and a passionate designer.

CAIRO NODES
For a 3 months bachelor’s project, I chose the topic and the project to be challeng-ing. It was posing Cairo’s huge expan-sion in the last 30 years and the problems that were created since that blowup.
What ideas and solutions could be offered to solve everyday fusses? Proposing the idea of urban nodes, that would be scattered through the whole city. These nodes have mixed use functions with affordable hous-ing units, and each node will be solving the urban site’s problems.
To move forward, I chose the node of El-Tagamoa El-Khames to be my focus-ing node.
Challenges: 1-City for cars not for people 2-Non existance of pedestrian life and public spaces.3-Separation of functions 4-No public transportation

WORKSHOP
Learn-Move-Play-Ground was a two-week-workshop in cooperation with the TU Berlin and the Stuttgart Uni-versity. The main objective was to increase the quality of open spac-es in the public schools in Cairo.
As a first step the project started with two primary schools whose schoolyards were in a very bad condition. In the first week, the workshop focused on adequate communication with children in order to understand their needs and desires. Stu-dents and children collaboratively devel-oped viable concepts. The second part was dedicated to the design and devel-opment of the playground equipment.
The challenge was the implementa-tion of the design in 1:1 scale with-in a tight time schedule and under difficult conditions regarding ma-terial resources and construction.
LEARN-MOVE-PLAY-GROUND“ summer workshop, redesign schools’ playgrounds”
With this book, we would like to illustrate the process and the implemented design in detail. The goal is to offer ideas and hints of possible solutions, which could be developed for further projects and design-build studios. The furniture and landscapes we have realised are simple, low-cost, and built with uncomplicated techniques. Never-theless, they have the power to be flexible and adaptable because their functions and meanings are open to different uses and can be readapted in line with the imagination and
dreams of the children.

DESIGN STUDIO V PROF. VLATKA SEREMET
We consider architecture not only as an enclosure of space. It is not only de-fined by walls, floors and ceilings. Ar-chitecture comes alive through visual expression, dynamic light, sound and spaces of interaction. Our objective is the architectural discourse and theaesthetic comprehension of space.
The unique and expressive visual rep-resentation was a major part of Stag-ing Cairo, the use of different and new media highly supported. An essential aspect of this course was the process-based work, interdisciplinary discus-sions with media artists and dramaturgs as well as regular pin-up presentations.
OPERA AIDA“stage design, architectural atmospheres, light design, performances & script writing”
ACT I, SCENE I & II ACT II, SCENE I & II
In the middle of Aswan café, people are gathered at the end of the day to meet, play board games and have fun. Some of them bet everyday while playing board games. The café gathers neigh-borhood people who know each other to
sit together daily. Reda is the beverages guy; people call his name to order beverages and she-sha. There are two famous visitors of the café who go there daily to play board games and bet for Aida; a special drink
of the cafe. Am Malek and am Amen.
On one day Am Malek lost several games in a row and all the people in the café were watched him lose. He was in a really bad situation; he has never been in that situation before and didn’t know
what to do! After that day Am Malek went home mad after paying the bill of drinks for his incredible loss. He started thinking about what to do for revenge. He dis-covered that Am Reda is in love with his daughter and right away he thought of using Reda the guy who serves Aida, to cheat his way to victory. At first Reda refused but he later accepted the offer.
ACT III ACT IV, SCENE I & II
People were surprised when Am Malek came back with a winning streak; he didn’t lose a game from the beginning of the day. The tension between the two rivals rose and more and more people gathered to watch the game. Some started doubting what is happening but the rest didn’t care as they watched in
excitement. As the week came to an end Reda went to Am Malek to take his prize for helping him out, he also confessed that he is in love with his daughter and he wants to
marry her.
In favor of Am Malek, Am Amon fired Reda. In addition he ordered him not to talk to Amina again. Reda went to Am-ina to tell her what her father did. She told him that her father will not allow them to get married and suggested that they leave the country and start a new life in another place. Am Malek was so sad for losing his daughter for a couple
of drinks.
The Egyptian Museum is considered a very important museums all over the Middle east, as it contains lots of old pharonic monuments . It is located in one of the most famous squares all over the world, Tahreer square.
It was so weird to have a museum having all of these qualities but missing an at-tractive children’s museum inside.
The competition was to redesign or build a new children’s museum, exhibiting only Pharonic history.
DESIGN STUDIO II PROF. BARBARA PAMPE, PROF. VITTORIA CAPRESI
NEW CHILDREN’S EGYPTIAN MUSEUM
The old Egyptian museum is located in such an active context. Directly con-nected to Tahrir square where the Egyp-tian revolution took place. And now it is considered the most famous square worldwide. The museum’s supervisors decided to build a children’s museum
beside the old Egyptian museum.

GUC UNIVERSITY
For an integrated Design project, integrating Design, Building Construction, Building physics, Theory & steel Structure all together to get one output, which is a University Library. It was decided to be in the center of the university, in front of the public space which is full of kiosks, students, etc.We were assigned to design a Library having 250,000 Books! On a large scale.Facing a problem of a street passing in the center of the space assigned to build the Library in.

Lohmühlen Island, Berlin
In the northern part of the Lohmühlinsel a new urban and dense neighborhood for living and working shall arise, involv-ing the green southern part of the island and the adjacent east cultural centre “Arena Berlin”. Target groups are start-up companies, creative from all sectors and housing for differ-ent social levels. In aspect of sustainable urban development (compact city) are to develop innovative building and floor plan typologies, which will allow a fine-grained mix. In particu-lar, a comprehensive range of typologies with a high variability.

Example of different housing units, each targeting a special group of people. Focusing on the idea of merging offices and residential units in a one building.
ONE DAY PROJECT
The roving spider is a product of a one day project that re-volved around developing and designing a concept for a mo-bile library. How could future mobile li-braries be like ? How could they be conceptualized now-adays and how will the users interact with them?Attempting to develop a mod-el that it is really revolutionary catering for the needs of the users. We develped a portable li-brary that moves and trans-forms like a spider!

CITY FRONTS, VENICE The city fronts is a project that aims to illustrate the city facades in one postcard. Each postcard shows the city as an elevation perspective. I take pictures of building facades and illustrate the postcard. The first issue is Venice, London will be the next city!
