• Contours– 4 cache levels– 1:600 & doubling up to 1:4800– PNG, 512 x 512 & anti-aliased– 3GB on disk for approx. 775 sq miles– 5 plus hours to create

• Polygon shapefile used for cache extent

Items we’ve run into

• Security for both server and services

• Freeance does not support many to one apps

• Redo the post-install after server url was assigned

• ESRI’s vision for AGS still doesn’t mesh with what our county needs for web mapping

Where we want to go…

• Future versions– Create child service groups– Create representations for base layers– Continue to improve the cartographic look– Build application w/out cascading services– Add a layer for hillshade relief

• Look into building our own application– Java based?

• Leverage the new .msd file type in 9.3.1?
