Triathlon WA have been using Aqualyte for over 2 years as the preferred training and competition hydration drink for our Junior Talent Development Squad. As our development squad athletes are primarily aged between 12-23 as an organisation it was important that we offer a low carbohydrate/low sugar drink to our athletes. Many products were reviewed by Triathlon WA’s High-Performance staff and Aqualyte performed well above other known brands. Our athletes compete in a range of varying climates, and the Aqualyte product provides a versatile hydration product that is great for travelling as well as adaptable to hot, humid and cold race conditions. There is no strong aftertaste, which aids in rapid absorption allowing for optimal hydration level before race starts. The new berry flavour was a big hit within the group and just adds to the selection of flavours already on offer. The support of Aqualyte, in particular Ben Tarbox has been exceptional over the last 2 years, he is passionate about educating and supporting the new wave of talented triathletes within Western Australia. We would not hesitate to recommend it to other sport scientists, teams and athletes looking to improve their on-field performance.
