    Introduction All-Terrain Vehicles (ATVs) are frequently used for off-roaddriving, including agricultural and traction work, and there is astrong demand for easy operation.

    ATs waste engine power in the transmission mechanism, resultingin a degradation of fuel consumption and dynamic performance,so they developed a dual-clutch transmission for ATVs.

    The dual-clutch transmission provides better fuel consumptionand dynamic performance than other ATs.

    Noise

    The hammering noise fromthe dog clutch mainlyresults from the rotationalkinetic energy caused by thedifference between therotating speeds of gear andshifter when the dog clutch isengaged. This rotational

    kinetic energy is transducedinto noise and heatgenerated at the collision ofthe dog and the pocket.

    A dual-clutch transmission utilizing a gear train with dog-clutch was developed successfully.Hammering noise caused by the engagement of the dog-

    clutch was reduced by control of the motor-driven shift andgear shift mechanisms. The basic design of the gear is the same as that in a MT,though the main shaft structure and the layout of gear stages

    are different. A dual-clutch transmission using a gear shift mechanism with shift drum was developed successfully.The clutch, transmission axis, and gear shift axis are the same

    as those in a MT.

    Introduction

    At present, there are no clear criteria to judge the quality of shiftquality and shift control effect about DCT . That is, based on theshock of degree, work of slipping which is produced by

    transmission system to assessment the shift quality roughly.

    This paper took the research on shift quality evaluation andoptimization of a DCT prototype, on the one hand, the controltarget and control method On the other hand, it is optimized thecontrol strategy and control algorithm of DCT system.

    2. How do we control pre-shift mechanism.

    The feed control of motor-driven shifting is divided into eightsteps to accommodate the above mechanism, and the motoroutput (Duty value) and time are controlled for each step .

    3. Why were they not using the synchronization mechanism.

    The synchronization mechanism leads to a larger transmission size,heavier weight, and a cost increase due to the increased number ofparts.
