After-market Inks

After-market inkjet inks is a good business around the world. There are plenty of companies around the world which can produce ink just as good as the original.

Yes, it is understandable that manufacturers prefer people use their own original ink. But in the USA it is illegal to prohibit a user from using after-market ink or toner. Besides there are well known instances, documented around the world, of original ink for a major brand of printer which had a “bad batch.”

Ink quality can be tested in several ways, but also need to compare the product with all the competitors out on the market.

It is important to ask before buying ink for what specific print head it can be compatible, since there is a wide range of print head brands at the wide format printing market, and not every ink is compatible with all kinds of print heads.

But, there are plenty of capable ink companies with years of experience making good ink. Besides, if your outside banners of billboards only need to be used during a trade show, you don’t need even 10 months of outside longevity.
