THE LITTLE DISCOVERY CAMPAt the Mardyke we understand that this may be some children’s first camp experience and as such a big adventure for all involved. The Mardyke’s staff are skilled in helping children forming new friendships and bonds which are crucial for the children in the little discovery camp. Staff use activities such as the parachute games, racaloons and novelty races to assist children in forming new friendships and intereacting with all members of the group. Activities such as song and games, arts and crafts and pirate and princess stimulate the childrens imagination and ensure fun and enjoyment is had and childrens social skills are further developed. Using activities such as target challenge, giant bowling and Frisbee challenge childrens coordination skills will be developed and enhanced. By providing a wide variety of activities we aim to ensure that all childrens requirements and skills are catered for.

CAMP STRUCTURECampers are organised into groups and are assigned a specialised group leader who act as the liaison for the group during the course of the week. If campers have friends attending the camp parents can request friends be grouped together during the booking process. Groups follow a daily schedule that includes up to 7 activities per day. Activities vary on a daily basis and are specific to the age requirement of the child. Each age category will partake in different activities and will have different leaders for the different activities. Swimming occurs daily so please ensure children have their swim gear with them each day.

The Big Discovery CampOur Big Discovery Camp offers children the opportunity to experience new activities which may not typically be available during their school PE class or as main stream sports. These activities are chosen to ensure children experience a variety of different activities which will develop both their communication skills and overall movement skills. OurbrandnewinflatableHumanFoozballgameis1suchactivity while our Scooter Games will develop children’s coordination while still ensuring hours of fun and laugh’s are had.

The Big Adventure CampThe Big Adventure Camp offers a mixture of traditional sporting games with new and innovative activities. Children love the tradition game of table football why not give them a taste of what it is like to participate in the game for real by sending them to the Mardykes big adventure camp where they can availofthegiantinflatableversionofthegame.Notalonewill they have endless fun enjoying this new activity but they will also work on their social skills as well as their coordination and movement skills. We are aware that many of these children may have been to our camp before so our variations of old favourites and new activities will ensure they remain challenged and stimulated.
