43 APPENDIX I BIOGRAPHY OF WRITER John Michael Green was born on August 24, 1977, to Mike and Sydney Green in Indianapolis. He received his early education from Lake Highland Preparatory School and Indian Springs School. His experience of school was similar to other social outcasts who get bullied by arrogant people. He earned double graduation degrees in English and Religious Studies from Kenyon College. He worked as a student chaplain after graduation in a children’s hospital. John Green is the New York Times bestselling author of Looking for Alaska (2005), An Abundance of Katherines (2006), Paper Towns (2008), and The Fault in Our Stars (2012). He is also the coauthor, with David Levithan, of Will Grayson, Will Grayson. He was 2006 recipient of the Michael L. Printz Award, a 2009 Edgar Award winner, and has twice been a finalist for the Los Angeles Times Book Prize. Green’s books have been published in more than a dozen languages. John is also the cocreator (with his brother, Hank) of the popular video blog Brotherhood 2.0, which has been watched more than 30 million times by Nerdfighter fans all over the globe. John Green lives in Indianapolis, Indiana.

BIOGRAPHY OF WRITER

John Michael Green was born on August 24, 1977, to Mike and Sydney Green

in Indianapolis. He received his early education from Lake Highland Preparatory

School and Indian Springs School. His experience of school was similar to other

SYNOPSIS OF THE FAULT IN OUR STARS NOVEL

Three months after getting first period at the age of thirteen years , Hazel

Grace Lancaster diagnosed with thyroid cancer stage four. The disease metastasizes

to the lungs and it makes her has pneumonia. In addition, she have to swallow

Phalanxifor to slow the growth of cancer cells. Hazel must bring BiPAP ( bilevel

Positive Airway Pressure ) everywhere to help with breathing .

At the instigation of his mother , Hazel came to the activities Support Group

( Support Group ) were held in the basement of the Episcopal Church. This support

group is led by a testicle cancer survivors. There, Hazel met Augustus Waters, sexy

boy seventeen years old, a former basketball player. Augustus or Gus joined support

groups at the request of his friend, Isaac, who had cancer of the eye. Gus himself is a

survivor -cancer osteosarcoma bone- which makes losing one leg having to be

amputated.

Hazel had a different slant to Gus about life being lived. Gus lives in fear

will be forgotten forever when he die. While Hazel did not really care . He has

learned from the book An Imperial Affiction ( Misfortune Extraordinary ) written

Peter Van Houten how to respond to a dying condition . For Hazel , death is a usual .

" If you're worried forgotten forever by humans , I encourage you to ignore it . God

knows , that's what all the other people . "
