justfresh uses various biological-based technologies and techniques to produce fruits and vegetables locally and organically while significantly reducing impact to the environment. We never use any soil, fertilizers from warm-blooded animals, contaminated water, chemicals or other harmful inorganic/organic toxins in our growing process.

China is faced with the most prominent and complex environmental issue the world has seen, caused mainly by the complexities of its increasing population and its rapidly diminishing supply of clean water and arable-land. China has 20% of the world’s population and only 7% of the world’s arable land. Meanwhile, 90% of China’s water supply has either disappeared or have become contaminated. Food and water security is China’s top national priority and has been for quite some time.

The effects that China’s environmental issues have on our health and wellbeing are far more severe than we imagined. From the food we eat, the water we drink and touch, to the air we breathe, are severely contaminated with toxins that our bodies cannot efficiently dispose of. Excessive accumulation of these toxins are linked to various diseases, cancer being the most common.

While we believe that China leads the world in developing sustainable solutions to address certain major environmental issues, millions of people will continue to suffer and die each day until such solutions are realized. In such a critical time, it is important for the world to know who we are and what we stand for as a company. We’re not only a company that grows fruits and vegetables, and even though we probably do it do it better than anyone else, we’re a lot more than that. At our core, we believe we have the responsibility and capability to play a pivotal role to assist China to modernize its agriculture industry, and in doing so, improve hundreds of millions of lives and improve the environmental legacy that we pass on to our future generations.

Our journey thus far has been a deeply emotional and educational one. Nearly everyone we have approached or encountered – from some of the largest private and public enterprises, renowned academic institutions, esteemed industry experts, Nobel Laureates, and especially, the Chinese Government - have been incredibly supportive and generous with their time and resources. Many have gone over and above to help as if it were their own company. They chose us – a company that is passionate and brave enough to believe they can change the world for the better - to lend their reputation, expertise and resource to. We honor these people by mak-ing sure that our values will always be preserved and that our goals will always be pursued.

Water ToxicityWater Toxicity China faces one of the world’s most severe water security problems. China’s surface and aqui-fer water sources are severely contaminated and being depleted at alarming rate. Industrial-ization, urbanization and agriculture are the main sources of water contamination and con-sumption.

- China is the world’s largest producer of wastewater per capita. 20% of industrial waste and 70% of household waste are released untreated into major water sources.

- 80% of China’s surface water and ground water are contaminated. 90% of water used for agriculture irrigation is contaminated.

- China leads the world in over-pumping its aquifers by 20% per annum, while also leading the world in water usage inefficiency/wastage.

- China cannot replenish its water sources through precipitation due to the increase of air-borne pollutants emitted into the atmosphere. These pollutants increase toxic sulfur dioxide levels in the atmosphere, which eventually precipitate and enter water sources and the soil.

90% Chinese citizens consume con-taminated water daily, while 300-400m has little or no access to water at all.

Soil ToxicitySoil ToxicityNearly all of China’s foods contain some levels of toxicity, which are caused by toxins entering the food chain through the soil, air and water.

- China leads the world in non-arable land per capita. China has 20% of the world’s population with only 7% of the world’s arable land.

- China uses 50% of the world’s fertilizers and pesticides.

- In the past 20 years, 25% of China’s arable land has become too toxic, containing excess lev-els of heavy metals such as lead, chromium, nickel, arsenic, and cadmium.

- Small farmers that occupy less than 30% of China’s arable land produce 70% of China’s food.

- China has one of the world’s highest-rate of artificial desertification.

- Soil remediation is incredibly complex and expensive and is one of the biggest reasons why no “true” organic farms exist in China.

Page 4: Ap Brochure Intro, Products & Services 2015-2016

2. IndustriesIndustries release toxins into the air, creating sulfur rain that further contaminates the soil and water sources.

In order to cut costs, indus-tries release untreated toxic waste into water sources, over pump aquifers, use farmland as dumpsites, etc.

3. UrbanizationUrbanization and the popu-lation continues to grow, increasing demand for re-sources and encourages more industrialization and agriculture development.

Nearly most household-waste is released into sur-face water untreated.

1. AgricultureFarmers use polluted surface & ground water to irrigate crops that further contami-nates soil and water sources.

With less land and water, farmers use more chemicals to compensate but with di-minishing returns.

Farmers must rely on sub-sidies or irresponsible and hazardous farming practices in order to survive and meet targets. The soil eventually becomes non-arable.

Toxic EcosystemVicious Cycle

4. Environment ImpactAll of these sectors affect the ecological balance and reduces the availability and efficacy of air, soil and water, which humans and animals depend on for survival.

Precipitation can no longer effectively replenish water sources due to contamina-tion.

Non-arable land cannot re-tain water or grow crops.

5. Health ImpactAll of these pollutants enter our bodies through the air we breathe, the food we eat and the water we drink.

China’s usable water and arable land is diminishing at alarming rates while its consumption of resources con-tinues to increase at a faster rate.

Page 5: Ap Brochure Intro, Products & Services 2015-2016

Human ToxicityPollutants Entering the Human BodyThe ones to end up suffering the most are always the ones who can least afford to...Most can-cer patients are people from rural areas who cannot afford adequate care.

- Crops uptake pollutants from the soil and water. Humans consume these crops and these pollutants enter our blood stream. The human body has no efficient way to excrete such pol-lutants such as heavy metals. These pollutants continue to accumulate in the human body, eventually causing a variety of health complications, including cancer.

- 200m food illnesses per year and 60k deaths from waterborne pollution per year.

- Highest rate of cancer deaths per year, with 40% of the world’s lung cancer cases and 50% of the world’s liver cancer cases. Fastest growing rate of esophagus, stomach and colorectal cancer cases in the world

- Highest rate of children cancer cases in the world. Fastest growing rate of children diabetes and obesity in the world.

2. Toxins leak through intestine and flow to the liver.

4. Toxins are stored in tissue, such as fat, the brain and nervous system

1. Toxins enter our body through the food and water we consume or the air we breathe.

3. Toxins recirculate the blood stream and accumulate.

Our SolutionAquaponicsWe use a state-of-the-art aquaponics system that took nearly a decade to design and develop by EnDian. Our system enables us to grow our fruits and vegetables faster, safer, fresher and more affordable than traditional farming. Our system provides many other benefits to the consumer and environment that cannot be realized through traditional farming.

Aquaponics is an ecosystem that symbiotically combines traditional aquaculture (the raising of aquatic animals) with hydroponics (the cultivating of plants in nutrient-rich water in lieu of soil) in a protected and closed-loop ecosystem.

Not all aquaponics systems are created equal. The idea that aquaponics is a system that can be easily managed with little expertise is a misconception. The balance of an aquaponics eco-system is both an art and science and in order to achieve and maintain the system’s maximum capability, having a deep understanding of microbiology, aquaculture and plant biology is essential.

In general, the process of aquaponics occurs as follows:

Our most recent hygiene test carried out by Merieux and CNAS showed that our products contained zero harmful toxins and zero traces of 191 different pesticides or chlorine, chloramine, lead, cadmium, arsenic, copper, tungsten or mercury.

A. Fish The fish is fed organic feed. The fish defecate is then pumped into a bio-filter.

B. FilterThe fish effluent is converted into rich nutrients beneficial microorganisms.

C. PlantsThe crops uptake these rich nutri-ents while clean-ing the water in the process.

D. LoopThe clean water is pumped back to the fish tank and the cycle continues indefinitely.

Benefits of AquaponicsBetter than soil-grown organic products…While we are not officially certified as USDA Organic (we are currently under review), our prod-ucts are more healthier than traditional farming. We conduct regular hygiene and our results are consistently below the levels of chemicals and other harmful organic toxins under USDA Standards, because we never use chemicals, organic/inorganic toxins, soil, fertilizers from warm-blooded animals or unpurified water.

We put in the additional effort by testing our products and water for levels of organic and inorganic toxins not required by USDA, FDA or EPA Standards, especially heavy metals which are extremely toxic for human consumption. We also closely monitor and test the nutritional levels of our products.

Increased Food SafetyWe never use soil, which almost always contain a excess levels of organic/inorganic toxins in China, heavy metals being the most common toxin. We never use fertilizers from warm-blood-ed animals, which is the main sources for e-coli, salmonella, listeria, etc. We use water that is completely purified of any heavy metals, fluoride, chlorine, chloramine or any other organic/inorganic toxins, which is common in China’s agriculture and municipal water.

Fresher & HealthierThe versatile design of our system can be built anywhere even on non-arable land. This allows our farm to be closer to our customers, so that we can retain freshness and reduce food miles. Most of our products grow 20% faster and are more nutritious, because our products are continuously absorbing the right amount of nutrients through their roots.

No Seasons & More ConsistencyOur system allows us to completely and efficiently control our environment so that we can grow our products any time of the year. Furthermore, our cost of production is estimated to be 50% lower than traditional farming because most of our processes are automated, reduc-ing chances of crop failure or other inconsistencies.

Land & Water ConservationOur technology produces higher yields per area and uses 95% less water than traditional farm-ing. We never contaminate the soil or water, because we do not use chemicals, soil, fertilizers or any other organic/inorganic toxins in our system.

Food Spoilage Solution Phase IWe intend to eliminate such inefficiencies by creating a platform that allows our customers to directly communicate with us.

Through this platform, our customers are able to:

- place and track orders, and set delivery schedules- access and redeem loyalty points- access to schedule of available products- determine the product’s origin, when it was harvested, how it was packaged and stored- determine what methods were used to grow the products- determine optimal date of consumption date of the products- access to nutritional and other relevant information about various products- access information about our technology & sustainability- access to our latest hygiene and other tests

This approach creates more trust with our customers, improves alignment and consistency of supply and demand, promotes fairer prices and greatly reduces wastage and food miles.

Phase IIWe are currently in discussion and will begin pilot programs around China soon.

Food Spoilage 70% of Food is WastedIn addition to China’s rapidly declining supply of arable land and clean water, China also has the highest rate of food wastage and spoilage in the world at 70%! Intermediaries, such as distributors or aggregators, are one of the major contributors to this problem. The interme-diaries cause inefficiencies that increase food spoilage and costs for customers, farmers and themselves.

This is one of the critical areas that we are working with the Government and various experts to create a more sustainable and efficient supply chain while minimizing environmental im-pact. Intermediaries essentially create barriers between farmers and consumers. In general, this leads to:

- More wastage because farmers are unable to communicate directly with customers so they cannot optimize their grow schedule based on actual demand. They instead grow on specula-tion and reduce their variety in order to mitigate risk (40% of gown products is wasted).

- Quality inconsistencies, as they do not have the resources or expertise to enforce proper standards across the vast number of farmers (over 300m farmers in China).

- Quality inconsistencies because intermediaries don’t have the necessary facilities and ex-pertise to maintain the product’s freshness and hygiene.

- More spoilage because intermediaries spend more time on the road aggregating from mul-tiple farms in order to fulfill the variety of products required by customers.

- Increases production cost, Government subsidy spending and more pollution.

This is one of the critical areas that we are working with the Government and various experts to create a more sustainable and efficient supply chain while minimizing environmental im-pact.

Hygiene & Post-HarvestOur Standards & ProcessesFood contamination and spoilage is a major problem in China. China leads the world in ex-ports but also in the amount of rejected containers by the FDA most often due to contamina-tion and spoilage. Such controls don’t exist domestically and 70% of China’s food is spoiled or wasted by the time it reaches the customer.

Nearly all food contamination occurs during the post-harvest (farmers) or transportation pro-cess (intermediaries). Farmers lack an understanding of hygiene, harvest and post-harvest best practices.

We invest a lot in two primary areas to reduce such risks. We strictly adhere to international hygiene management and critical control points across our entire production and post-harvest chain. In simple terms, our post-harvest occurs as follows:

4. Pre-drying

5. Spin Drying

Handling & Packaging

Post-Harvest & PackagingForwarders and intermediaries lack routing efficiency, proper equipment and expertise to safely store packages during the transportation process. It’s well known that farmers or inter-mediaries often tamper with food products in order to preserve the product’s appearance of being fresh.

We invest in clean, safe and strong packaging, tamper-proof and tracking systems to provide our customers with transparency and traceability. We routinely test our packaging materials are FDA approved, hygiene, ECT and grading. Our boxes are typically:

- A or B and 100% food-grade corrugated boxes, double or triple walled with C, B/R flutes- treated for extra durability and temperature control using recyclable coating system (RCS)- properly aerated holes without reducing durability- handles for efficiency and better handling- pads, insulation sheets, liners, fillers and dividers- environmentally friendly, renewable and recyclable- special requests: EPS rigid insulation or other requests

New TechnologyWater Remediation TechnologyThe many thousands of human-made and other chemical compounds present in the environment offer a serious challenge to our biosphere. Our earth’s clean water supply is decreasing daily. Our partner, Living Water, offers the possibility of harnessing the diversity of the biosphere to degrade, remove, alter, or otherwise detoxify these various chemicals.

We have brought together scientists from a wide variety of disciplines and backgrounds, such as microbiology, molecular biology, analytical chemistry, and chemical and environmental engineering, to develop a proprietary system harnessing the power of microbes, enzymes and aquaponics to remediate contaminated water sites (including lakes and ponds) by preventing and reducing the extent of organic and inorganic environmental contamination at the source.

How Does it work? We use a bioremediation process of organic contaminants in sztu. This stimulates the natural degradative activities of the environment by the addition of competent, exogenous microbial inoculate (often referred to as bio-augmentation). Our microbial inoculants are added (or fostered) to promote and/or enhance bioremediation rates.

Is it safe? Our microbial inoculants are 100% organic and safe for the environment. Our microbial inoculants do not include genetically engineered microorganisms. Living Water’s bioremediation process:

- Decomposes organic sludge and improves water clarity- Reduces ammonia levels, and hence controls algae growth- Stabilizes oxygen levels, so that the fish can breathe easier- Stabilizes bloom conditions and prevents over-blooming of algae- Prevents and treats floating clumps resulting from dead planktons- Reduces formation of Hydrogen Sulphide- Reduces BOD and COD levels- Reverts back the pond/lake to its natural ecosystem- Improves over all aquatic life inside the pond/lake- Removes heavy metals and other chemical compounds from the ecosystem

We are constantly researching, developing and incorporating technology that benefits people and the enviroment. We are currently testing this technology in 3 lakes and rivers in Hong Kong.

The environmental legacy that we leave for our

Common SenseOne of the world’s leading ecologists stated that “agriculture depends on biological sciences and ecological principles,” yet the bulk of the world’s nations rely on mechanical sciences and chemistry to deal with agriculture problems.

In Rebecca Costa’s “A Radical New Theory of Collapse,” she concludes that the many civiliza-tions that failed before us always failed because of agriculture failure caused by the complexi-ties of rising populations and deteriorating environment. They turned away from ecological principles and biological sciences and increasingly to faith, religion, magic, etc. This did noth-ing but shelve the problem for future generations, all of which eventually collapsed.

But isn’t this what we are doing today? We’re turning away from biological sciences and eco-logical principles and turning to mechanical chemistry to fix nature. We continue to advance at an incredible pace in creating mechanical innovations, such as computers, weaponry, dams, buildings, etc. Yet, we are becoming increasing worse at dealing with the less complex matters relating to the natural world, which is self-organizing and renewable - it’s something we do not need to create or re-engineer. We only need to manage it and nature will play its course.

This problem has remained constant throughout mankind. It really boils down to the lack of common sense and humanity. Does it make sense that America uses oil to grow corn to feed cattle to produce more fuel? Humans have since caused global desertification to 2/3 of the world’s land, depleted nearly all the world’s usable water. The environmental legacy that we leave for our future generations depends on the decisions we make today.

In this world there is room for everyone. And the good earth is rich and can provide for everyone. The way of life can be free and beautiful, but we have lost our way...We have developed speed, but we have shut ourselves in. Machinery that gives abundance has left us in want. Our knowledge has made us cynical. Our cleverness has become hard and very unkind. We think too much and feel too little. More than machinery we need humanity...

In the 17th Chapter of St. Luke it is written: “the Kingdom of God is within man” You have the power to make this life free and beautiful, to make this life a wonderful adventure. Let us fight for a new world - a decent world that will give men a chance to work - that will give youth a future and old age a security. Let us fight to free the world - to do away with greed... Let us fight for a world of reason, a world where science and progress will lead to all men’s happiness.
