WELCOME GIRL SCOUT TROOP 6403!While Central has had a Boy Scout Troop for years, we have not had an opportunity for girls of our congregation andthroughout the city to have the positive influence of scouting for girls here at Central. In the spring, Amy Gonzalez, Leaderfor Troop 6403, requested to move the troop to Central this fall. A parent meeting was held on August 20 to discuss theth

move and the troop. It is not too late for girls kindergarten and up to be a part of the scouting adventure! Regular meetingswill begin August 27 from 6:15 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. Contact Amy Gonzalez at 601.880.6379 for more information about theth

troop either as a participant or a volunteer!

CLUB 412 and ZONE KICK OFF Last Sunday evening Zone and Club 412 began their Fall semester. This Sunday evening program (5:30-7:00 p.m.) Is opento all children Kindergarten - 5 grade. During this time, much focus is put on Scripture memorization, learning the Booksth

of the Bible, 10 Commandments, etc. Central’s Children’s Ministry feels strongly that all children need a solid foundationon which to begin their Spiritual Journey. This is done through games, music, Bible study, art, and computer. If you wouldlike more information on our Sunday night program, please contact Sabrina at [email protected]!

PAX MERIDIANIt was eventful to say the least! The rain may have caused us to move indoors but the “SON” shined through the wholeevent as 347 people turned out for our inaugural PAX MERIDIAN. The line-up of Gypsy, Sarah Margaret Huff, ColtCleveland, and Alex Goldman did a wonderful job of bringing a variety of musical styles to the concert stage.

While they were up front making the night memorable, we cannot forget the countless volunteers who helped set up chairs, man the inflatable games, cook the food, take up tickets, and all the other behind the scene chores that allowed the eventto unfold without a hitch! Many thanks go out to the Student Committee and the parents for all their hard work!

CBS College Bible Study took a brief break but is rested and ready to go for the fall semester. CBS will meet at the home ofMiles & Meme Huff at 7:00 p.m. on Monday night, August 26 for dinner and Bible Study. If you are a college student, youth

don’t want to miss this time of nourishment and devotion.

YOUTH COMMITTEE or as it is otherwise known as the Student Lead Team, will have its next meeting on Tuesday,September 17 in the Wesley Room. th
