St. Ann School is in the middle of its Annual Appeal. Our goal this year is $60,000. To date we have

raised $13,041 (22%) even with the current health crisis. All proceeds go to benefit the school.

The economic environment today is a challenging time for families who wish to take advantage of a Catholic education at St. Ann School. Those families need our help. Our St. Ann School Appeal had $13,000 on May 31, a huge shortfall to our $60,000 goal. We’ve exceeded $60,000 in three of the previous four years. Thank you to all who have donated.

To energize our drive, a parish family has stepped forward with a $20,000 matching donation pledge. If we can reach the $33,000 plateau by July 5

th, the full $20,000 will be contributed. The

pledge will match all St. Ann School Appeal donations between $13,000 and $33,000 paid by July 5. Special thanks goes to those families who have already helped us raise $13,000. That's key in meeting our goal.

Two major factors are impacting St. Ann School plus existing and prospective student families for the upcoming year.

CoVid 19’s impact on families and employment reduces the affordability of a Catholic school education.

Millions of dollars in tax credits for scholarships were un-claimed in 2019 for use in the 2020-2021 school year. Because of a strong response in designating tax credits from our parish, St. Ann’s was able to maintain 27 scholarships for returning students, but unable to add new scholarships to replace four graduating students. We had 41 scholarship students just three years ago. The majority of schools lost scholarships for returning students due to a lack of claimed tax credits.

As Catholics one of our roles is to recruit and develop disciples of Christ. What better way than through our children and St. Ann School! Catholic Schools stress the value of self-discipline and commitment. Students explore their faith through classes and activities in Scripture, Sacraments, Church, and morality via an all-Catholic faculty.

Public Mass Guidelines

Bishop Robert Baker has lifted the suspension of public Masses inside churches effective Wednesday, May 13th. However, the dispensation from attending Mass is continuing; when in doubt, we urge you to err on the side of caution. Thus, Annunciation of the Lord offers these guidelines:

No one is to attend Mass if they feel sick. There is a general dispensation from attending Mass to anyone with health concerns that would lead

them to fear contracting the virus. Holy Water, Missals, and hymnals have been removed from church. However, our Holy Water

dispenser will have holy water for you to fill a bottle to take home. Social distancing will be required. We have marked off every other pew and ask that individuals

keep at least 6 feet apart, while family members may sit together. Face Masks are recommended, but may not be worn when receiving Communion. Offertory baskets will not be passed person to person. The Sign of Peace is retained but without physical contact. Communion lines will be single-file and people must be 6 feet apart. Holy Communion will not be offered from the chalice. Social distancing will be required entering and exiting the church. Congregating will not be permitted in the Gathering Area/Narthex. Dismissal after Mass will be by rows directed by the ushers. After dismissal, no one is to remain in the Gathering Area/Narthex. People may visit using social distancing in the Parking Lot.

In order to observe social distancing, the church capacity will be less than 50% of normal capacity. People who arrive after all the seats in church have been filled will be asked to go to the courtyard. We hope to have speakers there, and people will be able to receive Holy Communion at Communion time in the liturgy. There will be limited seating. It has been suggested that if weekend Masses are at capacity that those attending daily Mass might omit Sunday Mass to allow others to have the limited seating.
