Lessons Learned 2008-2013
1. Get the right information at the right time to the right people. Don’t overwhelm: Break up content into manageable pieces.
2. Be high touch in highly virtual times: Provide active, individualized facilitation & communication. Make direct requests to connect & contribute. Use in-person/informal experience to start.
3. Attend to technical AND social components of identifying, screening, understanding, interpreting & disseminating knowledge – technology, processes and people.
Annual Staff Meeting: LINKD Overview | February 10-11, 2015Annual Staff Meeting: LINKD Overview | February 10-11, 2015
Lessons Learned 2008-2013
4. Don’t reinvent the wheel. Adapt resources to various formats and audiences.
5. Focus on doable strategies & next steps. Ensure resources are “reality-based rather than theoretical,” and “applicable to something that we are doing in my organization.”
6. Cover key concepts in a thorough and concise manner using materials that are “clear and easy to understand” and help “connect to a larger community of professionals.”
Annual Staff Meeting: LINKD Overview | February 10-11, 2015Annual Staff Meeting: LINKD Overview | February 10-11, 2015
Lessons Learned 2008-2013
7. Model the value and behaviors of a learning organization. Actively use/share knowledge & evidence/evaluation for improvement.
8. Don’t bring folks together unless clear about purpose/goals and relevance/outcomes. Focus participants on salient, immediate work tasks.
9. Be nimble. Allow for the goals/purpose to shift or evolve over time.10.Don’t duplicate – collaborate & integrate.
