The National MS Society works to address the challenges of each person affected by multiple sclerosis. To fulfill this mission, the Society funds cutting-edge research, drives change through advocacy, facilitates professional education, collaborates with MS organizations around the world and provides programs and services designed to help people living with MS and their families move forward with their lives. The Society is dedicated to achieving a world free of MS.

The New York City – Southern New York Chapter of the National MS Society is committed to serving the 12,000 people living with MS in the five boroughs, Westchester, Putnam, Rockland, Orange and Sullivan counties. Dear Friends of the Chapter,

This year, an untold number of steps were taken to connect hundreds of people to the MS movement and move us closer to a world free of MS. New relationships were forged as so many individuals were inspired to join our movement. Life changing differences were made for many of the 12,000 people living with MS that we serve and we were proud to work in partnership with our donors, volunteers, healthcare professionals, corporations, fundraising event participants, legislators and community organizations, to name a few. Every person’s efforts and contributions helped us to deliver on our shared promise to do something about MS now.

To advance our mission, we connected people with resources and each other, whether it was through our annual Walk MS, a wellness program, a professional education program or a visit to a legislator’s office and we remained steadfast with our commitment to find a cure for the disease by contributing to the Society’s national NOW (“No Opportunity Wasted”) research campaign.

Tireless momentum is needed across all fronts, along with great resolve to improve lives and create a world free of MS. We are proud to present our Annual Report for Fiscal Year 2013 which reflects the positive impact we have made in the community and reflects the fact that the New York City – Southern New York Chapter of the National MS Society is the best investment to find solutions for MS.

Sincerely,

Peter Goettler, Chairman, Board of TrusteesNew York City – Southern New York Chapter of the National MS Society
