Slovene eHealth Solutions
Methodology
• analyzed the Slovenian eHealth solutions from the usage aspect
• examination and analysis of the literature, project
documentation and exploration of other sources
• structured discussions with the experts responsible for the
development and implementation of the eHealth solutions
• supported by the factual usage data extracted from the
business intelligence (BI) modules contained in the individual
eHealth solutions.
• research and analysis were conducted from September 2018 to
January 2019 for the year 2018.
• On the most popular eHealth solutions in Slovenia:
ePrescription, eAppointment and CRPD.

Conclusions
• IS in Slovenian hospitals is on high level
• NIJZ has been facing different challenges, while trying to
introduce the solutions into the health care environment.
• The general success in the implementation of innovative
eHealth solutions in Slovenia was recognized also by the
European Commission – 6th place in DESI
Conclusions
• All eHealth solutions are on the national level.
• Solutions were in different stages of implementation => a lot of
challenges in implementation to Slovenian health care system.
• All people living in Slovenia have
Slovene Health Insurance Card
• Is an official pacient identity for eHealth solutions in Slovenia.
• In order to further exploit the potentials of the eHealth in the
future, all efforts behind this project will have to be supported
by systematic measures on all levels and firm commitment of
stakeholders.
