Most universities require a comprehensive school reference. Individual teacher references are not usually required.

Application essays or personal statements are very important.

Singapore – Application procedureStudents need to apply to each university

individuallyMany universities will not accept students on

predicted grades. Check carefully as some courses (medicine) will only admit on official results.

Application dates are typically open October – March of the year prior to entry.

Singapore- AdmissionsSome universities will admit on the basis of

SAT results. If you want to take this option be sure to register for the tests well in advance.

Singapore fees range from 11,00 SGD to 31,000 SGD

Plus living costs of between 10-30 K SGD

IndiaYou can apply as NRI (Non resident Indian) or PIO

(People of Indian Origin). Most universities have an NRI quota

Cost to study medicine if privately funded is USD100 – 150K for the degree. If admitted by sitting and passing a highly competitive entrance exam fees are heavily subsidised.

Most (medical) courses start in July /August and most universities will only admit on final grades, not predicted grades. There are some exceptions to this. Research each university for requirements.

India – Application procedureStudents doing A Levels need to obtain an

Please appreciate that it takes time to coordinate with all teachers on the writing of a considered reference.

You will need to allow at least one month for the school to provide references and other letters of recommendation.
