This is a valuable record of your child’s academic performance so far this year. The information contained in your child’s report provides a summary of their achievement, effort, attitude, behaviour and progress. I urge parents to thoroughly read these reports and to have a discussion with your child celebrating successes and encouraging them to improve where required. Some teachers may have requested an interview with individual parents. If this is the case, please ensure you capitalise on this opportunity to gain an understanding of your child’s progress. If you would like to make an appointment, please book a time with your child’s classroom teacher. I would like to congratulate all our students on the effort that they have put into their education for semester one and I am sure that this commitment will continue through to the end of the year. Parents are reminded that next semester’s reports will only be sent via email so it is essential that we have your correct email details. Dads4Kids Scavenger Hunt Last Sunday our Dads4Kids group held a Scavenger Hunt as a family event at our school. The weather was perfect and it was a successful and enjoyable day out. Congratulations to the following winners: The Morrell, Jacobs, Bell, Johnston, McCullaugh and Sutton families. Thank you to all the members of the Dads4Kids group for their time and hard work in supporting our community and for organising these events. Interschool Carnival Congratulations to all our students who participated in the Interschool Winter Carnival last Friday. All the teams showed tremendous skill and sportsmanship and represented the school with pride. A special congratulations to our A Division soccer team who won their competition. Thank you to Miss Stone, Miss Vranjes, Miss McDowell, Mr Fairbairn and Mr Perkins for training and organising their teams. A special thank you to Mr Maidens for coordinating the event. New Building We are very pleased to have had a new building delivered to our Early Childhood area last weekend. This is a welcome addition to our school as currently we have no vacant space in any of the buildings. This building will be reserved for Ms Rampukar’s kindy groups and will ensure that all our kindy and pre primary students and staff are all within the same area of the school. We are hoping that this building will be ready early next term. Staffing Changes After a rigorous selection process, I am very pleased to announce the permanent appointment of Mrs Jo Blake and Mrs Elissa Farr. This is great for our school as it ensures continuity for our students and our programs. We also welcome Ms Maree Nayler who will be the Education Assistant in Pre-Primary 2 for three days a week starting next term. Mrs Snelling will maintain two days in Pre-Primary 2 and for the remainder of the week will assume Special Needs EA duties. Pupil Free Day Parents are advised that tomorrow (Friday 29th June) students are not required to attend school as it is a Pupil Free Day. Staff will be undertaking professional development on this day. Please ensure that you arrange adequate care arrangements for your children. Please note that Camp Australia will not be oper- ating on this day. I would like to wish our students, families and staff a great holiday. If you are travelling, enjoy your trip and travel safely. Last Wednesday we were very fortunate to have Zac Fitzgerald and Rick the Rock Eagle from the West Coast Eagles come to our assembly and speak to us about the importance of healthy eating, exercise and sleep on

personal wellbeing as well as the importance of good sportsmanship and resilience. This was a highly positive, entertaining and interactive presentation which was thoroughly enjoyed by all.

CONCERNS / COMPLAINTS

If at any time you have a matter which you feel you need to discuss please contact the school. Please note that ALL formal complaints should be marked Private and Confidential and sent to the Principal.

Kids spend most of the day in classrooms learning concepts and practising skills. But if you wander past the school at lunchtime, you’ll see them gallivanting through the playground kicking a ball or setting up a “shop” in the sandpit. Kids inherently want to roam and explore using their imagination, and we are keen to strengthen this practice at OSHC. We make it a priority to “lighten up” as much possible, giving the kids a chance to tell us what activities they’d like to see in OSHC for the next week or month, rather than our team always setting the schedule. We think this approach not only enables kids to think freely and imaginatively but it also sparks their curiosity to learn more. . If you would like to see some of the activities that kids participate in at OSHC, please call into the OSHC space after school and speak to your Program Coordinator. We’re here to make Outside School Hours Care the best experience possible for your child. To find out more about our program, view fees and to register visit www.campaustralia.com.au From the Team at Camp Australia. Holiday information can be viewed on the parent notice board. Flyers are also available in the office or at Camp Australia

Toner Recycling East Beechboro Primary School is running a

recycling program for empty ink and toner cartridges. If you have any used cartridges at home, please bring them to the office for recycling. Together we can make a difference to our environment

Lockridge Dental Therapy Centre - The Lockridge Dental Therapy Centre will be opened during the school holidays with the exception of Thursday 12th and Friday 13th June. For these two days, please contact Guildford Dental Therapy Centre on 9279 5869 for EMERGENCIES ONLY.

Mud Kitchens A huge thank you to the P&C for funding the mud kitchens that have been placed in the playgrounds throughout the school. The students are thoroughly enjoying playing with these during recess and lunch times. Thank you to all those involved in this project. A special thank you to the Skelton family who built and painted the mud kitchens.
