• Worldwide, consumersspend more than $20 billionper year on chocolateproducts.
• It takes about 400 cacaobeans to create 1 pound ofchocolate.
• Chocolate is a great sourceof antioxidants, which havebeen shown to reduce aperson’s risk of developingcancer or heart disease.
• Eating dark chocolate inmoderation can lower aperson’s cholesterol levels.
• Americans prefer milkchocolate over darkchocolate; however, theconsumption of darkchocolate is increasing. Tryto eat dark chocolatecontaining at least 40percent cacao (will bestated on the chocolatecandy wrapper) for the mosthealth benefits.
• The first United Stateschocolate factory was builtin 1765.
• The average American eats12 pounds of chocolateevery year.

Every Wednesday, we offer ashopping trip to Kroger for ourresidents to do a little groceryshopping. The shopping trip leavesbetween 10:45 and 11 a.m.
