FOCUS PROJECT

Retro Futuristic is

consisted of bright

colours against black

backgrounds to make a

statement.

The colours and the style that

is used work well together.

COLOUR……

When it comes to picking the right colours that work well together and

suit the theme, can be rather difficult but for the start of this project I

choose this range of colours that I picked from a number of images

that inspire me. I started using these colour as I found this would help

me to see what works best.

My Inspiration….. Geometric Still Life….

Shapes are a big thing for my inspiration and to build a

range that is original to me. Geometric still life helps me

to create a bold colourful range.

TECHNIQUES…. When choosing a theme you need to make sure you use the right

techniques that will work with the theme but before deciding what is best

you need to experiment to see what is successful and unsuccessful.

Mono Printing Block Printing

Laser Cutting

Laser Cutting is a

technique that can be

very effective because

it can reflect towards

ant theme depending

on fabric chooses etc. I

choose leatherette as

it’s a strong fabric and

cuts well, the thickness

impacts how it will cut.

Digital Printing

Throughout this project I

have experimented

several times with digital

prints but some times

they were successful and

others they weren't. Here

are a number of digital

prints that were created

at different times during

the module as time went

on I found that digital was

successful as it made it

easier for myself to

create the right effects to

fit the theme.

Collage Disperse

Experimenting

colours need to

with these I was able

to create the

a summer collection.

Final Range…..

About The Range….. This range is about creating a collection that is different but still sticks to

what the theme presents. For me this collection was about the colours

and the shapes that were used because from my research that was key

to the theme, the right colours were the most important part because

they represented so much to Retro Futuristic. I wanted to create

statement prints that fitted well into garments and I will I have

succeeded that.
