Welcome Welcome to Alsager School

We are delighted that you are considering entrusting your son or daughter to Alsager School for the next five and possibly seven years.

We believe that happy children work to their full potential and we make it a priority to create the right conditions to ensure all our pupils are able to flourish. For every child, school should be a safe, enjoyable and stimulating place to learn and make progress. Along with quality teaching, we can boast a range of support provision which has been described by OFSTED as ‘Outstanding’! In addition, our new, state of the art Music and Drama block is a fantastic learning environment for our young people.

Our aim is to work in partnership with all parents and carers and we will always be pleased to meet with you to discuss your child’s education.

It really is an exciting time to be at Alsager School.

We look forward to meeting you.

The transition from Primary to Secondary School can be difficult. Through Alsager Community Trust, our links with partner primaries and other local schools are very strong and as a result the move from year 6 to year 7 is very smooth indeed.

Our school is a place where everyone feels they are being treated fairly, where teachers and pupils respect each other and we all work together productively and positively.

Our Values

‘The school is itself a very cohesive

community and has strong links

with the immediate area’

Our ValuesEvery pupil is placed in a ‘College’, where older pupils will help newcomers and there are College support staff to look after every individual. Usually the College Manager will be the first contact point for parents. Every pupil, and every parent can contact someone at school who has a direct link to them at any time of the day.

Every pupil at Alsager School is successful at lots of things. Rewarding achievement and giving praise is at the heart of what we believe, be it through postcards home, College Celebration events or our comprehensive rewards system.

We are a very high achieving school, OFSTED graded our pupil attainment as ‘Outstanding’. Our results are always well above national and regional average (see our website for details). Any child that really works for their best possible results will get them at Alsager School. We encourage, support, advise and help every pupil to achieve the best they possibly can.

Our Standards

‘Individual students and their needs

are well known to staff. The work

of the school’s Inclusion Centre is

exemplary and offers excellent support

for their learning and behaviour to all

students’ OFSTED 2009

Alsager has a disciplined and ordered environment. The majority of the discipline is based on providing stimulating lessons to engage all pupils and our positive ethos of praise. However, pupils are also clear about sanctions available to staff. The most important thing to us is learning, any pupil whose behaviour prevents or restricts learning will face sanctions.

We believe our curriculum does stimulate and excite our pupils. OFSTED described it as ‘Outstanding’ and our pupils like it too! Just ask them about PINC, Cooperative learning, our two year Key Stage 3, early entry GCSEs and three year Key Stage 4.

However, what happens outside the classroom is just as important in the development of our young people and our extra curricular programme is rich and varied too. Successful teams in almost every sport, music dance and drama activities to name a few, plus every possible type of trip and visit to suit all interests and all pockets. The range of opportunities and activities open to our pupils is endless and we hope your son or daughter will take full advantage of them.
