SAC has been in the milking machine busi-ness since 1938. Since the foundation ofSAC in 1938 and until now, an immensedevelopment has taken place for the individu-al milk producer – the farmer. Productionefficiency has gone up dramatically with theincrease in production, and at the same timethe milk producers have faced increaseddemand for milk quality from regulators andconsumers. This development has led to aconsolidation amongst farmers as well assuppliers of milking equipment.

This development also implies that the milkproducers are in constant need of more effici-ent and sophisticated production equipment.Today, microprocessors are worn by the mil-ker and the cow and they are installed allover in the milking parlor. The managementprograms handle and sort the huge amountsof data which are constantly gathered. This isdone intelligently so that only relevant andnecessary data, which requires action fromthe milker or the farm manager, are provided.Hereby, order and structure is created out of

Since the establishment in 2002 Ihave had no maintenance costsof the rotary except from a slidefor the texas door and after themounting of IDC 3, the costs ofthe milking plant have been low.The total bacterial count is 10-15,000, and the cell count is150,000. The plant is furnishedwith SAC energy-saving equip-ment , and the energy expensesare about the half of other com-parable parlours.

Since the start in 2010 therehas been only few maintenancecosts of the milking plant, andthe total bacterial count is con-stantly 4-5.000 and the cellcount is 150-250.000, depen-ding on the season. A historical overview of SAC since 1938until today shows that throughout the yearsSAC has known to develop the business,for example by expanding from a DKbased company to becomming a globalplayer.

Today, SAC is one of the few milkingmachine producers on the world market

When SAC was founded in 1938 it waseasy to be a full-line supplier.

The choice of machines on the marketconsisted of very few variants of bucketmachines, and right from the beginningSAC was a full-line supplier. Since then,the milking herds have expanded from 4to 12 cows to several thousands.

In this course, the development has moved

from bucket machines to pipeline milkingin tie-up stalls in cowhouses to robotplants. Within each of the three maincatagories: tie-up stalls, cowhouses androbot milking, a number of milkingsystems have been developed which con-sider different needs and philosophies.

the simplest, small systems to the mostsophisticated, large systems.

So our costumer can be a farmer in a cot-tage as well as a manager of an industrialfarm who is able to monitor everythingonline from each single milkings to thewhole livestock via the SAC managementsystem.

Within types of milking parlours alone, there

are more than 36 models of types of mil-king systems, and furthermore, there aredifferent sizes and variations of equipment,so in reality, there are thousands of vari-ants. In order to control the many types ofmilking systems, SAC has developed aconfigurator, which in a simple way crea-tes manageability and order. This enablesSAC to offer and deliver exactly what theindividual customer wants.

10 years after the foundation, SAC star-ted the first export to Finland in 1948.

Since then, SAC has expanded theexport to Scandinavia and the rest ofEurope. At the same time as the inventi-on of the automatic remover, SAC setup a business in Japan. After that, thewhole world has become our work place.

Today SAC can be found in more than58 countries all over the world throughimporters and their network of agentsand technicians. They attend to sale,installation and service. In Europe, SAC has a well-developednetwork of agents and importers so thattoday the company can be found inalmost all EU countries. For manyyears, the company has been in Asiaand South America where by now consi-derable market shares have been rea-ched.

SAC has produced a large number ofmilking plants to governments in manycountries, among others Russia, Iran,Pakistan, Syria, Tunisia, the Emirates,Egypt and Estonia. Likewise, SAC hassupplied several UN relief organizationswith milking plants and equipment.

The milk producers have moved fromhand milking two times a day to the useof milking plants controlled by micropro-cessors; plants that milk thousands ofcows 24 hours, and today our customerscan be found all over the world.

This means that the service offered bySAC has been adapted to global conditi-ons. Today it is standard to have preven-tive maintenance of day-and-night mil-

king units in order to avoid unintendedstoppage. SAC makes this work easierby being able to offer service packagesadapted to the working time of the indivi-dual plants.

If luck runs out in case of lightning or thelike, it is important that the actual con-struction of the milking plant is built sothat it ensures the best possibilities forcontinuing to milk.

SAC’s new IDC system has a control hie-rarchy which ensures that an underlyingcontroller keeps working if the computercrashes. If the controller is destroyed,theIDC will be powered by the power supplyof the hierarchy. If this too is destroyed,the IDC can continue milking powered bya car battery.

In addition to a normal 24 hour accessibi-lity every day all year round, SAC is able

to offer a video system which servicestaff all over the world can connect to. Inthis way SAC is able to follow the custo-mer closely and guide him directly allover the world day and night.


With pride we can say that our founderwas far-seeing when he expressed ourmotto in 1938, when SAC was founded.

In the development work, SAC has alwaysmade sure that new products operate withas little consumption of energy and otherresources as possible, and that they pollu-te as little as possible.

Examples of this can be found in the fol-lowing products/functions:

- SAC stops the pulsators when the cow has been milked so that a full profit of aSAC frequency control of the vacuum pump can be obtained

- SAC uses its own produced impeller milk pump which, with a SAC frequency control of the milk pump, can be speed regulated so that a full profit of the SAC plate cooler, fitted on the pump wire, is obtained. The milk is cooled to 0.5 degrees Celsius above the entry tempe-rature of the cooling water.

- SAC has developed a washing unit which can save up to about 40% of thewater consumption that other washing units of the market use. The washing

unit can be set to complete only one flushafter milking, and then complete the wholewashing at a time when the power price islow. Furthermore, the washing unit canensure that no cooling and washing takesplace at the same time so that the maxi-mum ampere consumption is minimized.
