THE FACTS• We are indoors 90 percent of the time. More than 65 percent of that time is spent at home. This can

mean exposure to very high levels of indoor air pollution.

• Daily exposure to can be from two to five times higher — sometimes as much as 100 times higher —than outdoor pollutants.

• Carpeting, furniture, paint, cleaning agents, building materials, paneling and glues can emit chemicalvapors. Dust, pet dander, pollen and odors are typically in household air. Mold, mildew, and dust mitesmay be present. Even gases such as radon and carbon monoxide are found in measurable quantities inmany homes.

• The Nikken Power5 Pro features many technologies that are inspired by natural forces, to re-create thesystems in nature that help to provide clean, fresh, invigorating air. Its neutralizing filter contains organicmaterial that disrupts the irritant properties of these particles, without the use of synthetic chemicals.

• The Power5 Pro operates without producing ozone. Ozone is classified by the United StatesEnvironmental Protection Agency as a toxic gas, yet other air filtration systems produce it as abyproduct. The State of California has already banned the sale of ozone-producing air systems, andother states are expected to follow.

• The final stage of filtration uses a HEPA filter. These were first developed for use with nuclear reactors.They are now used in medical operating rooms, in high-tech industries and other applications whereclean, pure air is critically important. The Nikken Clean HEPA System filters at 99.97% efficiency.

• The Power5 Pro features a patented system for producing negative ions. In Japan, a walk through aforest or by a mountain stream (where high amounts of negative ions are present) is regarded as therapyfor mental stress, which the Japanese call shinrinyoku, “forest-air breathing.”

• This advanced design uses minimal energy. The Power5 Pro has been awarded the Energy Stardesignation from the United States Environmental Protection Agency. The Energy Star is given only to aroom air cleaner that is at least 35% more efficient than a standard model, and saves its owner aminimum of 215 kilowatt-hours per year.
