Data is aggregated and analyzed using AfiFarm - proprietary PC-based software where built-in reports and tools related to various aspects of dairy management are generated.

AfiMilk MPCOur efficient, precise milk meter measures milk yield and milk conductivity, which is used by AfiMilk to monitor cow health and milk production. AfiMilk MPC is an ICAR* approved milk meter.

AfiTagPlaced around the bottom of the animal’s leg, our electronic transponder accurately measures and wirelessly transmits the behavior parameters used in detecting estrus and for monitoring the animal’s welfare (for example, walking activity or resting time).

AfiLabThe advanced technology in the AfiMilk system provides online information about the composition of milk (fat, protein, lactose and blood) to assess the value and quality of the milk. Milk composition is also used for detecting a cow’s metabolic problems and other specific health issues.

Improving fertility

Effective heat detection is an important tool for breeding animals in time, reducing open days, and improving pregnancy rates. AfiMilk’s integrated heat detection system (AfiAct) provides an efficient, most accurate way to detect animals in heat. Farms using AfiAct show an average reduction of 25 to 35 open days per animal.

Tracking nutrition and postpartum problems

Dairy cows require specific amounts of nutrients to support various levels of postpartum performance. AfiMilk calculates fat-to-protein ratios (aggregated from AfiLab milk analyzer) to estimate the cows’ energy balance and alert for nutrient deficits that may lead to clinical ketosis, feed quality changes or unbalanced mixed feed ratio that lead to SARA (sub-acute ruminal acidosis), or low milk fat syndrome.

Monitoring the efficiency of milking procedures

AfiMilk monitors milking during each session, registering milk flow curves for each cow. Indicators such as cow preparation, claw-on time, and flow rates assess the milking procedure, machine integrity, and milker operation. These indicators are used to provide milkers with corrective actions to improve cow prep, reduce claw-on times, minimize the time cows spend in the parlor, and repair machine failures.
