2Advisees pick up forms and booklets from their advisorRegistration materials are mailed to part-time studentAdvisees check pre-printed information on registration form for accuracyNecessary corrections should be made in the Registrars OfficeAdvisees check for registration holds or restrictionsAdvisees review their academic evaluation Advisees schedule to meet with advisor on Advising Day or at another mutually convenient timeAdvisees should review their co-curricular transcript for accuracyDiscrepancies should be reported to the Office of Student Organizations and Leadership Development

Students Responsibilities

Meet your advisor Set up an appointment with your advisor for Advising DayPrepare for the meeting Familiarize yourself with policies and proceduresCatalog and the Student HandbookKeep files Contact your advisor promptly if:You are having any type of problem in your classes;You have questions about policies, procedures, and/or academic requirements;You need help solving a problem or you just need someone to talk with.

3Advisees bear some responsibility for developing a successful relationship with their advisor.Meet your advisor in his/her office at the beginning of the semester. After that, you should then see your advisor on Advising Day and throughout the semesterSet up an appointment with your advisor for Advising Day. Prepare for the meeting by examining the courses offered next semester and determining a possible schedule, including alternative coursesFamiliarize yourself with university and college/school policies and procedures by reading the Catalog and the Student HandbookKeep files of all advising information you receive, including the matrix for your major of study for the year you entered the universityContact your advisor promptly if:You are having any type of problem in your classes;You have questions about policies, procedures, and/or academic requirements;You need help solving a problem or you just need someone to talk with.If you ever want to change your academic advisor, request a Change of Advisor form (see page 17) or go to your Deans Office.
