Gumercinda “Dona Chinda” Cruz De Buruca, 69, of St. Mary Parish, Garden City, died Nov. 23, 2010. She is survived by her husband, Bernandino Buruca; sons, Ramiro, Jose, Vicente, Balmore, Noel, and Rommel; daughters, Bernardina, Gumer-cinda, and Luz; brothers, Filadelfo, Benjamin, Napoleon, and Jose; and sisters, Egla and Maria. Justin Lee Lobmeyer, 26, of St. Mary Parish, Garden City, died Nov. 25, 2010. Father Bernard Felix presided. Martin J. Baier, 85, of St. Dominic Parish, Garden City, died Nov. 28, 2010. He is survived by his wife, Wilma M. Manuela “Nellie” P. Esquibel, 96, of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadal-upe, Dodge City, died Nov. 28, 2010. Survivors include sons, Baltasar Jr. and Larry; daughters, Patty Renteria and Debbie Esquibel; brothers, Manuel, Catrino Amaro and Gilbert Amaro; sis-ters, Nancy Zisumbo, Francis Zisumbo, Santos Higerada, Jane Hernandez and Olivia Torrez; 17 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. (Editor’s Note: Approximately two weeks before Nellie Esquibel’s passing,

Richard Larry James, 73, of Sacred Heart Parish, Ness City, died Nov. 28, 2010. Among the many organizations with which he was affiliated was the Knights of Columbus. Richard is survived by wife, Joyce; three daughters; two sons, and their families: Debra and Kevin Frank, Steven and Matthew; Michael and Alisa James, Brian and Lauren; Larry James; Dana Hastings, Anna and Hayley; and Sara and Mark Hoepner, Benjamin and Abigail. He is also survived by two brothers and their families; Donald and Barbara James and John and Janie James. Anthony “Tony” Joseph Slattery, 84, of St. John the Baptist Parish, Spearville, died Nov. 28, 2010. He is survived by his wife, Lenore “Sally” Morlan; sons, Joseph and Randal; daugh-ters, Karen and Kris; sister, Christina; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Albert Buenrrostro Villanueva, 86, died Nov. 30, 2010 in Lakin. He had served in the US Army, and was a self-employed tailor for many years in the community. He is survived by son Jesse and wife Ardella Villanueva; daughter, Virginia Aguilera; numerous step-children; four brothers; four sisters; grandchildren Matthew Beltran, Jeffrey Beltran, Aaron Aguilera, Jeremy Vil-lanueva, Roxanne McFarland and Danielle Keomany; and ten great-grandchildren. Father Brian Nelson presided. Elvira B. Seib, 80, of Sacred Heart Parish, Ness City, died Monday, Dec. 1, 2010. She was a member of the Altar Society.
