(N.S. 0727/43.— 22 Jul. 1943.)
The allowances of general squadron mobile equipment have been under consideration and it has been decided to introduce, as an alternative to the allowances laid down in B.R. 378, the reduced scales shown in columns 6 and 7 of Appendix I to this Order.
2. Squadrons may return any of the items held in excess of the allowances detailed in columns 6 and 7 of the Appendix and a report of such items returned should be forwarded to the Admiralty (Director of Stores).
3. New squadrons, and squadrons re-arming, will be equipped initially to the reduced scales shown in columns 6 and 7 of the Appendix and, if increased quantities o f any of the items are required, quantities to complete to the scales shown in columns 4 and 5 of the Appendix should be demanded from the storing depot.
4. Any sets of squadron mobile equipment laid aside at R.N. store depots should be reduced to the allowances shown in columns 6 and 7 of the Appendix.
5. Reduced ranges of squadron mobile equipment for Seafire aircraft (B.R. 378J) have also been approved as shown in Appendix II and the instructions in paragraphs (2), (3) and (4) above also apply to this equipment.
