This is my sixth year and to say this fitness center is full service is an understatement. It is an exceptional value: competitive all-inclusive pricing, comprehensive array of equipment and group classes, track, lap pool, sauna, steam room, showers, experienced personal trainers, friendly staff, and the facility is immaculate. I highly recommend that you visit Club Fitness, if you are looking for a fitness center or switching from your current facility. You won’t be disappointed.

The Learn to Swim Program is designed to enhance each participant’s ability to progress from one level to the next. Swimmers are evaluated on a daily basis and can move up at any point during the program. It is not unusual for a child to repeat a level more than once before passing. The first class of each session will be the testing day that will allow us to put the child in the appropriate level.
ADULT/YOUNG-ADULT BEGINNER LESSONSHave you ever wanted to learn to swim, but you don’t feel comfortable taking lessons now that you’re an adult? Don’t let age stop you! We will focus on the basics: water entry, front float, back float and breathing.
PARENT-TOTAges 4 months to 24 months: Infants and toddlers will develop water comfort in a safe and fun environment. Using games, songs and repetition they will work on developing basic assisted skills that will help them transition into swimming without their parents or guardians.
WATER EXPLORERSAges 3-6 years: Children will learn basic breathing skills, floating and the ability to jump in chest-deep water and recover.
TADPOLESSwimmers develop basic underwater explorations, supine and prone floating along with kicking.

SEAHORSESSwimmers will do glides with kicking, swim freestyle for 25 yards and learn backstroke fundamentals along with open turn push-offs.
PUFFER FISHSwimmers will be able to swim freestyle for 50 yards, backstroke for 25 yards and learn elementary backstroke fundamentals.

PARKS AND RECREATION FOUNDATION
Parks & Recreation Foundationof the Addison Park District
The Addison Park District Parks and Recreation Foundation was founded on June 18, 2003, as a not-for-profit organization. Its mission is to support and enhance the Park experience for all Addison Park District residents through tax-deductible donations and fundraising. The Addison Park District Parks and Recreation Foundation’s purpose is to provide financial aid for park district participants, as well as provide volunteer opportunities and recognition.
The Foundation has successfully sponsored several fundraising events, including golf outings, Scotch Double Candlelight bowling events, a family night miniature golf adventure and the longest drive competition at the Links & Tees golf dome. Proceeds from these events are used to provide funding for the APD scholarship program that supports needly individuals and families residing in the district, who wish to participate in park district program activities, and to recognize the contributions of the many volunteers who coordinate park district programs. We invite your participation in, and support of, the Foundation and its activities. For more information, contact the Foundation at (630) 361-2313

AMERICAN DISABILITIES ACTAddison Park District will comply with the American Disabilities Act (ADA). The Park District does not discriminate against eligible residents for participation on the basis of a disabling condition. We invite any resident with a special need to contact our staff upon registration so that a smooth inclusion may occur. Our District provides specialized services for people with disabilities through the Northeast DuPage Special Recreation Association (NEDSRA). For more information about NEDSRA, please visit them online at nedsra.org.
ACTIVE DUTY MILITARY FEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAMThe Addison Park District respects and admires the sacrifice of the military personnel and their families, and is able to provide fee assistance as needed by military personnel or their dependents. A fee assistance program is available to active duty military personnel and their dependents who are residents of the Addison Park District. It is the intent of the Addison Park District to provide programs, services, and facilities at little or no cost for this purpose to active military personnel and their dependents. Active Duty Military Fee Assistance applications are available at the Community Rec Center.
CHARACTER COUNTSCharacter Counts is a nationally recognized program that structures character education around six pillars of character: trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring and citizenship. This program promotes a united effort on the part of all agencies to provide children with the same message. Character Counts is a program that helps children and adults focus on building and becoming good citizens. Addison Park District incorporates these six pillars into all of our programs. Instructors learn the program and, in turn, incorporate the pillars into their instruction.
CODE OF CONDUCTNo eligible participant shall be limited in the exercise of any right, privilege, advantage or opportunity on the basis of race, sex, creed, national origin, activities, service or benefits. BEHAVIOR: Participants are expected to exhibit positive behavior at all times. The following guidelines have been developed to help make Park District programs safe and enjoyable for all participants. Additional rules may be developed for particular programs and athletic leagues as deemed necessary by staff. Participants shall: • Show respect to all

If inappropriate behavior occurs, a prompt resolution will be sought specific to each situation. The Park District reserves the right to dismiss a participant whose behavior endangers the safety of himself/herself or others.
PROCEDUREUpon registration or entry into the program, the parent/guardian should be solicited for any information regarding special accommodations needed. For example, if the registration form asks to describe accommodations needed for the participant’s enjoyment of a particular program and the parent’s response indicates “a positive role model for behavior” or another response of that nature, the parent should be contacted for information about any behavior modification programs in place at school or home. Attempts should be made to utilize these in the program.
