Dear ladies and gentlemen, dear friends! You have received the annual report, which is extraordinary in a way. It contains many new activities, which we have begun during the previous year, while also being the last annual report that I am writing, as after 19 years I have decided to leave the position as the head of ACORUS. I hereby want to thank all those who have helped us, whether financially, with materials, services or moral support, from the bottom of my heart. I hope that those of you who have accompanied us for many years will continue to support ACORUS and I am looking forward to meet with you in a position other than head of ACORUS. Yours, Zdena Zuzana Bednářová Chairman of ACORUS, o. s. And Head of ACORUS – center for people threatened by domestic violence

4

Activities of ACORUS

ACORUS is a non-profit organization (association) that focuses on providing general help to people threatened by domestic violence (hereinafter DV) and their children. At the turn of the year 2015/2016 we began the transformation of civil association into "registered institute" as required by the New Civil Code of the Czech Republic. We made a proposal at the Municipal Court in Prague regarding this transformation. This refers to a new business entity, in accordance with the new Civil code; the goals and activities remain the same, they will only be expanded by the protection of children experiencing domestic violence.

5

Mission: ACORUS, o.s. provides complex professional help to people threatened by domestic violence, helping them to overcome their unfavorable social situation and integrate them into standard life without the presence of violence.
