Olympiad Exam
Winners of the Science Olympiad were awarded Medals and certificates on 20.02.19.
U.V. Roshan, Mita Rao, G. Johanna of std V and Mrithula, Pranav Kishore of std IV took the II level of Olympiad Exam in English & Science on 10.02.19 .
Suits Examination
Students of std V & VI took their Suits IT Exam conducted by Bharathidasan University on 21.02.19 &22.02.19.
Quiz Competition
Megha.V & Hannah Blesson of std V, Kaushik & Suhash Krithik of std VI rep-resented the school in ‘The Hindu’ Young World Inter School Quiz Com-petition on 12.02.19 at A.M Jain Col-lege, Meenambakkam.
Spell Bee
15 students from class I-VI took part in the National Level of Spell Bee Exami-nation on 24.02.19 at Sarada Vidhyalaya, T.Nagar.
Sports Activities
Selection for State Level Chess Competi-tion was conducted on 05.02.19.

7 of our students participated in the Badminton and Chess in the SBOA Matric Interschool Tournament on 08.02.19.
9 of our students competed in the State Level - KodiKatha Kumaran Memo-rial Chess Tournament at Velammal Vidhyashram, Padappai on 09.02.19 & 10.02.19 and received participation cer-tificates.
Thematic Observances
World Cancer Day
World Cancer Day was observed on 04.02.19. Students of std VI performed a skit to enlighten their peers about Cancer causing situations and food items. They laid stress on the life style habits that is to be changed by young children to avoid the onset of cancer causing cells.
An awareness rally was flagged off by the Headmistress Mrs.Vijayalakshmi Nageswaran. Students of std IV – VI par-ticipated in the rally and created aware-ness among the general public .

Mother Language Day
To promote awareness of linguistic and cultural diversity and to promote multilingualism Mother Language Day was celebrated on 21.02.19. Children participated in the special assembly and spoke about the quali-ties of Tamil language through ‘Neethi Neri Villakkam’ and ‘Ulaga Needhi Padal’. They also spoke on the topic ‘Penn Viduthalai’.
Library Week - Site Visit
In connection with Library Week
students of std III & IV were taken
to Anna Library, Kotturpuram on
21.02.19. Children had an interac-
tion with the librarian about the pro-
cedures of the library. The visit was
arranged to encourage the reading
habit of the children.
Celebration Week
Social Day
Social week was observed on 19.02.19
& 20.02.19. The theme of the celebra-
tion was ‘Avoid Child Labour’.
Students presented a skit about the evils of child labour. They took a vow to stand against engaging children in work and support their education .
Creative Day
Children gave form to their creative ideas in the form of craft work and dis-played it on the occasion of the Crea-tive Day celebration on 20.02.19. Ear-lier students presented speeches about the benefits of developing creative tal-ents, during the morning assembly.

Cultural Day
Cultural Day was celebrated on 25.02.19. Students encouraged their peers to participate in extra –curricular activities by discussing the benefits of Dance & Music during the special as-sembly. Students of std V&VI present-ed a beautiful song ‘Be happy; don’t worry’ which conveyed a message to be strong enough during the time of crisis and believe in one’s own poten-tial .
Sports &Games Day
Sports Week started on 26.02.19. Primary children were introduced to various games like Badminton, Football, and Vol-leyball & Hockey. Information about these games was shared in detail. Bene-fits of Sports & Games was also shared to encourage young children choose games over mobile or Video games.
Science Week
National Science Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm to commemorate the discovery of the Raman Effect by Dr. Sir C.V Raman during the Science Week on 27.02.19 & 28.02.19. Students’
skit on ‘Save Water’ through Time travel was an eye opener, which drew attention about the diminishing
natural resources. Science Projects made by the students were displayed to encourage students to ask questions and to clarify doubts in dif-ferent areas of science and promote their effective participation.

Out Reach Programme

visited the Panchayat Union Primary
School, Sonalur on 08.02.19 and shared
few tips on English conversation and
stories with moral values.
Meet the Community
Students of std IV were taken to Kayar
Village to meet the farmers as part of
the Meet the Community programme
on 21.02.19.
Children had an interaction with the farmers about their regular routine in cul-tivating the fields. They understood the hardships faced by the farmers and devel-oped respect for them.

An Inter School Maths Talent Exam – Mathfident – was organized by SBIOA International School on 02.02.19. Around 51 students from other schools participat-ed in the programme.
Admission Campaign
Staff members distributed pamphlets in the neighbourhood to spread the news about the school and admission process on 02.02.19, 09.02.19, 22.02.19 & 27.02.19.

The guests were escorted by the school Band. Students demonstrated their coor-dination and physical fitness through
colourful Gymnastics, Fan & Hoops Drill. Defence skills like Karate & Kungfu techniques were performed by the children. The Toddler’s March Past was a cynosure to the eyes of the guests
and parents.
The much awaited first annual day saw some mesmerizing moments in the even-ing.
