BOOK REVIEW

THE FINAL PROBLEM WRITTEN BY A C DOYLE

This famous story was written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. The main theme of the story. The Final Problem is a detective story, where the main character Professor Moriarty is a mastermind of criminal activities. The author shows the main character Sherlock Holmes and-

Dr. Watson as good partners.

In this story Holmes and Professor Moriarty are equal-ly intelligent. The plot is so interesting that the reader imagines to solve the ease along with Holmes. On the other han, the author seems to invite the reader to read this story more deeply but the story itself is little confused. It involves too many minor places which make the reader to stop and re read the paragraph to understand the plot. On the whole the novel is worth reading. It keeps the reader mind active and develops

ability of reading.

When the author says that England has lost one of her finest detectives, we feel pity for the character and the

story comes to an end.

The More that you read. The more things you will know. The more that you know, the more places

you’ll go” said Dr. Seuss, the famous author.

Reading exposes you to a world of imagination, showing you nothing is impossible in this world.

By reading, you are exploring a different angle to see a thing you’ve known, on how different

action leads to different results. Books are beyond imagination. It’s like a huge spider web, where

you keep linking to more and more to things you knew, and things you just learn, structuring new

solutions and answers. To introduce the world of books to the budding readers, a book exhibition

was organised in SBOA Matric and Hr Sec School, Coimbatore from 03.09.2019. Principal Dr. P.

Krishnamoorthy opened the book exhibition, briefed the students about the importance of reading

and urged to students to read more books and enrich their knowledge.

More than 2000 titles in various subjects including science, quizzes, biography, motivational

books, mathematics, drawing, fiction and children story books were on display.

The One Nation-One Language ideology is the belief that the use of one single com-mon language is important for social harmony and national unity.Language which could symbolize nation and could regarded as identity of a nation is totally absent in India. The repercussions of this problem are many, the most serious being the threat to our national unity. Before Independence, the nation’s founding Fathers intended that Hindi would become the Linga Franca of the country-the link-speech but that language based regional identities didn’t allow this to happen. After Independence, Hindi, the most widely spoken language, seemed the obvious choice as the language of administration than that of English. But following violent protest against the imposition of Hindi as a National Language, opinion remained divided till now.India is a democratic country with diverse culture. People from all walks of life culture, ethnicity, religion, social beliefs and language live in the same country and share the resources. In the presence of diver-sity, there is unity. However, we must strengthen this integration by binding the language gap thus yielding to a common national language.A common national language will help the country get rid of illiteracy. There are various areas where we are lagging only because of lack of national language like trade, education and research areas of national security like military. The lack of national language acts as barrier for the progress of nation.Students avoid going to other places for education. There is difficulty to collab-orate in various ideas and hesitancy to relocate in other part of India. If india adopts Hindi as national language then Hindi will become largest spoken language thus giving numerous opportunities to software developers to make many application which could spread technical knowledge immensely to teach people to use computer and various other services. The same will give rise to many other RND.The true leaders of our nation like Mahatma Gandhi and Sardar Patel strongly advocated for a single national language for unification. Hindi being the most commonly used language, should be accorded the status of National Language. It is already accepted as official language, there shouldn’t be much problem in declaring it a national language as well.Mrs. Jeeva Senthil; Vice Principal SBOA
