The Vacuum Science laboratory is an ideal centre for fundamental studies of vacuum-related topics including materials and thin film coatings

It also provides an excellent training base for placement students from Liverpool (Piotr Czekala), Loughborough (Adam Smith and Christian Naran) and Bath (Rebecca Jones)

Also PhD and visiting students (Narong)

With UK research funding now so limited one wonders if Daresbury could become a centre for PhD training?
