• GNSS WG was established by EC decision 5/43 dated on 5 June 2013.

• GNSS WG 1st meeting was held in the Rabat on 8-9 October 2013.

• Air Navigation Committee 30 ͭ ͪ meeting Approved:

I. GNSS WG ToR and scope.

II. To continue the GNSS cooperation process with the EuropeanCommission.

III.Review the ACAC strategy and action plan, particularly the shortand long terms.

IV.Benchmark the other regional best practices (African and Indian).

• Cooperation between all ACAC on GNSS will achieve a strategy beneficial for all GNSS ACAC states as well.

• Provide all parties with a solid baseline for future activities investment in the field of GNSS.

• In selecting a specific augmentation system many elements are to be considered types of operation to be supported:– Technology maturity, cost, Aviation standard readiness,

airlines fleet capabilities and their future plans the global and regional approach.

• Decided to mandate ACAC to play a coordinating role in the negotiations between the European side and ACAC member States wishing to use the European EGNOS service and any augmentation in their respective airspace.

• Activate a joint working group EC-ACAC to monitor the implementation of the Road map and action plan.

• Accentuate the focus on the Short term strategy (MEDA Country) and long term strategy (independent GNSS system).

• Continue the cooperation with the European Commission in order to achieve a global approach taking into account technical, institutional and funding aspect

• Open channel communication and cooperation with ASECNA (EGNOS system in Central and West Africa), and GAGAN (Indian) SBAS to assess the potential coverage of the East of the Arabian Peninsula.
