CORRELATION ARI OCCURRENCE OF NUTRITIONAL STATUS IN TODDLERS IN PUSKESMAS BIROBULI SOUTH OF PALU SUBDISTRICT

Background: Acute Respiratory Infection (ARI) is one of the main health problems in the world. This is evidenced by the high mortality rate due to respiratory infections, especially in infants and children under five years old (toddlers). In 2008, there were 25% toddlers in developing countries, which is about 146 million children have weight loss problems, which is an indicator of a lack of nutrients. Malnutrition cases in Indonesia is a health problem that has not been completely resolved to date, so this research is conducted.Methods: This study is categorized as an analytic observational study, with a cross sectional approach. Samples derived from patients toddlers with ARI and not ARI in health center Birobuli. Additionally, bivariate test is conducted with coefficient of contingency correlation test. The data was collected using medical records.

Results: From the results of the statistical analysis between the incidence of ARI with nutritional status obtained value of r = 0, 001 which indicates that there is a very weak correlation between the incidence of ARI with nutritional status.Conclusion: There is correlation ARI occurrence of nutritional status in toddlers in PUSKESMAS Birobuli.
