Say Hello to Some of Our TRACiesDon’t worry— we don’t actually call you TRACies. Except here.

Sari C., University of Maryland ‘14Specialist, Brand MarketingB.A., Marketing

“I manage brand marketing initiatives for all 11 Choice brands; I work with all sorts of teams across the organization. TRAC was a great way to get my foot in the door and has opened up a lot of opportunities for me. I was able to learn so much about Choice and how my role directly impacts the company.

“I now live in Chinatown in D.C. I’m in the center of the city and have easy access to a ton of cool areas which makes for fun weekends and free time. Plus, I live right by the red line Metro, so getting to work is really easy. D.C. itself is a fun city and the easy access to surrounding areas in Maryland and NoVa provides plenty of places to explore and hang out.”

Jacob D., Bowdoin ‘13Sr. Analyst, Development Strategy & AnalyticsB.A., Economics and History

“I am responsible for compiling, tracking, analyzing, and disseminating lodging industry data; I research where we have the opportunity to do new business, and enhance our portfolio of hotels.

“TRAC gave me a group of peers who were both friends and colleagues as soon as I started at Choice. Having friends who worked in different departments provided valuable insight into how the company operates.

“There is always something to do in the D.C. area, whether it is an event in the city, a day trip to the beach, or hiking nearby trails. D.C. also has amazing cultural diversity, cuisine, and history which is a combination you don’t often find.”

Matt R., Cornell ‘13Program Manager, Innovation & Portfolio Strategy

B.S., Hotel Administration

“I lead our efforts to identify new features for Choice’s apps and other digital platforms. I ensure all new features solve a guest or franchisee pain point through consumer research and pilots and work with our Development Team to build them.

“TRAC has given me broad exposure to a number of facets of the hotel industry, which will allow me to move between functional areas seamlessly during my career.

“I love living in D.C. There’s lots of great bars and restaurants, tons of free museums and parks to explore, and it’s full of young professionals. Visiting our Phoenix office is always a treat as well—there’s lots of great hiking to enjoy year-round.”

Jennifer W., Cornell ‘12Sr. Analyst, Relationship Marketing Strategy

B.S., Applied Economics and Management

“I help manage digital communications for our loyalty program via our website, mobile app and emails. I work with teams across the company in both our D.C. and Phoenix offices to help customers understand program benefits and make the most of their memberships.

“TRAC allowed me to quickly form a close network of friends in different departments who were also recent graduates. It gave me the opportunity to meet with leaders early on to understand what their teams accomplish.

“I absolutely love living in D.C.! There’s always cool events going on and a ton of different types of restaurants to try. It’s walkable, clean, and scenic—plus, it’s easy to go to Maryland or Virginia for a change of scenery.”
