Steinhart-Hart Equation Overall, the Steinhar t-H art equ ation has replaced the Beta equ at ion as the mos t u sef ul tool for interp olating the NTC thermist or R/T cur ve cha racteristic . The St ein har t-H art equ at ion is a thi rd ord er pol yno mia l whi ch provid es exc ell ent curve fitting for spe cif ic tempe rat ure spans wit hin the temperature range of -80 °C to 260 °C. Th e Stei nhart-Hart equation wi th th e squared te rm el iminat ed is th e most common form of th e eq uation that is used and is us ually found expli cit in t empe rature T: To determine the A, B, and C coef ficients for a part icular te mper ature range, the resi st ance of an NTC thermistor is meas ured, unde r zero powe r condit ions, at th ree te mperat ur e points, where T1 is the lowest te mperature of the ra ng e, T2 is the mi d te mp eratur e, and T3 is the hi gh es t te mp erature of the rang e. The resistance/ tempe rature dat a are pla ced into the fol lowing thr ee equation s.
