Department of M.C.A. – Atmiya Institute of Technology & Science has

organized one week Student Development on “Mobile Application

Development using Android” under Gujarat Technological University

Mobile and Wireless Technology Club.

The Program was aimed to disseminate knowledge about Android and

various API and libraries of Android platform used to build mobile

applications and uploading and publishing it into the market. Program

has covered broad areas of programming such as User Interface

development (Widgets and Layouts), Storage, Media, Database, Graphics

and Animation, Telephony API, Content Provider, Multimedia – Audio,

Video, Camera Application development, Sensor and Map API and

implementation of it with Android Studio IDE. More than 70 students have

participated in this program.

On 1st Day (Dr.) Parga Shukla has demonstrated use of Listview, Various types of

dialog, Tab, Options Menu, Context Menu and various Layouts to arrange UI.

On 2nd Day various aspects of storage – files, preferences and database and retrieving

media files from external storage using content provider were demonstrated by (Dr.)

Parag Shukla.

On 3rd Day Dr. Hetal Thaker has demonstrated ActionBar, ToolBar, ShapeDrawable,

Gradient, Frame-by-frame and Tweneed animation.

On 4th Day of the program (Dr.) Parag Shukla various aspects of Telephony API –

Sending and Receiving SMS, knowing call state, service state.

Dr. Hetal Thaker has demonstrated use of various Sensors like – proximity sensor,

Accelerometer, Temperature and Ambient Temperature sensor, MAP API, Knowing

current location, Dragging Marker on map on 5th day of the program.

On 6th day (18th Feb) of the program (Dr.) Parag Shukla has covered various

applications covering playing Audio, Video and capturing picture – Camera API.

And demonstrate how to promote and distribute application on Google Play. Link
