Honey Simple SyrupIngredientsHoney and hot water

DirectionsHeat 2 parts honey to 1 part hot water in a saucepan over medium-low heat until the mixture reaches a simmer. Remove from heat and cool. Store at room temperature or refrigerate as desired. Lasts 4 weeks in the refrigerator.

TipWhile the mixture is simmering, infuse the syrup with herbs, spices, citrus peels or other aromatics. (Rosemary, grapefruit peel, peppercorn, pomegranate seeds and vanilla bean are just some of the possibili-ties.) Cool and strain the infused syrups before using.

Ingredients3 medium to large apples¾ cup cranberries½ cup chopped Pecans1 pinch cinnamon1 Tbsp. tapiocajuice of a ¼ lemon¾ cup of honey3 tbsp Butter2 eggs (beaten)+- 2 Tbsp. of Maple sugar

DirectionsPreheat oven to 375 degrees. Line the bottom of the pie plate with piecrust. Cut up apples into small pieces and place in a large bowl. Fold in cranberries, nuts, cinnamon, tapioca, lemon juice, and 3 tbsp honey. Melt butter in saucepan over low heat. Add remaining honey and stir. Remove saucepan from heat and add 2 beaten eggs. Stir mixture by hand and fold into other ingredients. Place into piecrust and sprinkle top with maple sugar. Bake for 45-50 min.
