Beading Class

16SAC120 - Did you ever want to try making jewely, but didn’t know where to start? Here’s your chance to learn basic beading skills and go home with some finished earrings, bracelets and necklaces to keep or give as great gift. The first class will focus on materials needed, techniques and lots of ideas so you know what beads you need to finish your projects. We will have a break between the first and second class so you can get your supplies. (There will be catalogs you can order from at the first meeting so we can get a group discount on supplies.) 16SYTH008 - Come learn the basics of Auto

Collision. We will start with learning how a car is assembled from the ground up. Then we will roll out to the shop for some hands on learning. While in the shop we will cover mig welding per-taining to auto collision, applying and sanding body filler, painting with a sata spray gun, custom painting with a sata airbrush.

16SHLTH101 - This first things first course teaches you the fundamentals of first aid and CPR. Learn CPR for adult/child and the use of an AED for adult/child. Employer and business owners, take note: The class meets OSHA re-quirements. After successfully completing this course, participants receive two-year First Aid certification and two-year CPR certification rec-ognized by the American Heart Association.

16SCMP108A – This class is great if you need to strictly learn to create and manipulate elec-tronic spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel for Windows. Learn to apply the powerful func-tions and formulas of the spreadsheet program to several business personal applications. Also learn to format the spreadsheets and create attractive charts that can be used to capture your audience in meetings, presentations and documents. If you have your own laptop with excel 2010 on it you are more than welcome to bring it.

Basic Women’s Self-Defense

16SPE0001 - This is a basic 8 week reality based self-defense course designed to meet the self-protection needs of women. The course will look at developing tools for basic strikes; grab defenses and defenses from the ground, focus-ing on the common types of attacks that women face and developing functional defenses and es-capes. These are simple movements that do not require athletic ability or years of martial arts training or learning complicated movements. Sweat clothes or exercise clothes be fine for this course.

Attention Adults:

Career Prep Programs

A partnership between the Perryville Area Career & Technology Center and the Perryville Higher Education Center . . . Students have the option of earning a Tech-nical Certificate of Completion, a College certificate, or an Associate of Applied Science Degree. This special partnership allows students to complete all of their coursework entirely in Perryville.

The technical courses are taken at the Career Center while the general education college courses (English, Math, etc.) are taken at the Perryville Higher Educa-tion Center.

The Career Center Programs meet Monday thru Fri-day (morning or afternoon sessions), August thru May.

While attending the technical courses at the Career Center during the day, students can also take the general education college courses at the Perryville Higher Education Center where both daytime and evening courses are available.

The following two-year programs meet 1/2 days, Monday thru Friday, for the entire school year.

Associate of Applied Science degrees available in most areas.

Open to adults and High School Juniors and Seniors.

Run power service to a de-tached garage or garden shed, 3 and 4-way switch ckts, and explain proper grounding and bonding requirements. Since 1975 your local Adult & Community Education program has been multiplying the richness of after-school programs and opening the doors of school buildings to everyone while serving all ages in the community. The Perryville Area Career Center’s Adult & Com-munity Education program offers after-school classes for children, evening courses for adults, and specialized training for area busi-nesses and industries. In addition, a special partnership between the Career Center and Mineral Area College allows students (both

high school and adult) to earn college credit through MAC while obtaining skill training at the Career Center.
