Transportation

Hosting & Fauxsting

Candidates who are driving should connect with their host/fauxst to determine a meeting location prior to checking in at the Hendrix Student Center. A parking pass will be provided to you upon check-in.

Interacting with current graduate students is a major part of the CU-GARS weekend. One way in which we offer you that opportunity is through hosting/fauxsting. Many grads have opted to either host candidates in their apartment for the weekend, or act as a "faux-st" for candidates who have acquired other accommodations in order to provide an opportunity to create a Clemson connection. Your host/fauxst is there to help answer any questions you may have and to help you through the interview process!

Beyond hosting, there will be several opportunities throughout the weekend to talk to current grads. We encourage you to capitalize on these moments to gain a wide range of perspectives on academics, graduate assistantships, and the graduate lifestyle at Clemson.

If you plan to arrive by train, please contact Gayla Bell, [email protected], as soon as possible.

Transportation , CONTINUED

Upon checking in at the Hendrix Student Center, candidates will receive a parking pass. This parking pass will allow you to park in Lot C-1 (see maps below/to the right). For the duration of the weekend, coordinate with your host/fauxst to see if they have any available guest spots near their apartment, or if you should leave your car in the C-1 lot.

There is a CATBus that runs from the C-1 lot to the Hendrix Student Center that you can take, or you can coordinate with your host/fauxst to arrange a pick-up. You would take the Blue Route which runs every 12 minutes in the hour, Monday- Friday 7:30 am - 5:30 pm. Everyone rides free!

Important Note: There is a parking lot in front of Hendrix, but it is heavily enforced by Parking Services. In the front of the Hendrix lot there are metered spots as well. However, if you park in a metered parking space you are expected to pay the meter as regulations are enforced seven days a week from 7:00 am – 10 pm. Parking meter fees are $1/hour and the meters accept quarters, dollar coins, dollar bills, and debit or credit using Visa or Mastercard.

PARKING

If you have any questions or concerns regarding parking, please contact Gayla Bell ([email protected]).
