2.5 Powering Up the BSC Rack
Two people are needed for performing this task.
2.5.1 Check the Customer Power Panel
To check the rating of the fuses:
1. On the customer power panel, check for the existence of two DC powersupply distribution circuits. Each distribution circuit is provided with aDC circuit breaker (fuse holder).
(See Site-Specific Information (Section 1.2.2) )
2. On the power panel, disconnect the two -48V power supply lines by usingthe fuse holders for the rack.
3. Check that the fuse ratings are in accordance with the SPP document(See SPP-59).
2.5.2 Check Polarity of DC Cables on BSC Side
To check the connection of the power cables between the site power panel andthe power interface on the BSC side:
1. At the customer power panel, make sure the two power lines for the BSCare disconnected (breakers OFF) (See Site-Specific Information (Section1.2.2) ).
2. At the 9130 BSC Evolution, check that the A1 to A5 and B1 to B5 switches, located at the front of the PDU, are OFF. If not, switch them OFF.

2.6 Check BIOS Settings
Perform the following steps for both OMCP1 and OMCP2 boards.
To check System Date & Time and Boot Sequence on the OMCPs:
1. Connect the Ethernet cable from the Local PC to the JAXSSW1 port ETH 8 incorresponding ATCA shelf see Connect the LMT to the BSC (Section 2.9.2).
2. Using Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties window, set the Local PC IPaddress.
The IP address for Local PC is 172.17.0.251
The subnetmask is 255.255.0.0
3. Open a DOS console window. Connect to the OMCP board throughSHMC as follows:
For Windows XP:telnet 172.17.y.8 <port number>
Port number is 4503 for OMCP1Port number is 4504 for OMCP2y is 3 for the lower ATCA Shelfy is 4 for the upper ATCA Shelf

4. Type the username:root
and the password:alcatel
5. Reboot the OMCP board:reboot
Note: For hardware reset of board variants before 3BK 27236 AACA use the resetbutton from JBXOMCP board.
For board variants from 3BK 27236 AACA on, the reset button is no moreavailable.
6. With the OMCP terminal window connection through SHMC selected, press[ ESC ] + [ 2 ] or press [ F2 ] several times from the installation PC keyboardduring the OMCP booting sequence.
7. Check ’System Time’ and ’System Date’ from Main menu are the currentones, otherwise you must correct it.
8. Check boot sequence from Boot menu are the correct ones, otherwiseyou must modify it.
The correct order must be Hard Drive -> ETH1 -> ETH2 -> CD-ROM Drive-> Removable Devices.
9. Press [ F10 ] and then press [ Enter ] to save the changes you made andexit the BIOS.
2.7 Software InstallationTo install the 9130 BSC Evolution software, refer to the 9130 BSC EvolutionSoftware Installation document (3BK 17430 3126 RJZZA).
After finishing the software installation perform the commissioning tests.

2.9.4 Perform the Rack Inventory
To check the firmware status and the hardware technical level of the hardwareby performing a rack inventory:
1. Check the hardware technical level of modules and boards by performingthe rack inventory.
To perform the 9130 BSC Evolution rack inventory, refer to the CI 08 - SiteEquipment Inventory document (3BK 17257 0001 RJZZA).
2. Check that there are no errors reported by the Inventar software regardingthe technical level of modules and boards.
2.10 Connect the OMC-R1. Ask the OMC-R operator to check the network connection to the 9130 BSC
Evolution. Open for example SSH connection for all external IP addressesas following:
OMCP1 is ’START_OAM_IP_ADDRESS’
OMCP2 is ’START_OAM_IP_ADDRESS’ + 1
Active OMCP is ’START_OAM_IP_ADDRESS’ + 2.
See Site-Specific Information (Section 1.2.2).
2. Wait for OMC-R confirmation that the connection is OK.
Check the Equipment
Status
3. Wait for the telecom boards to finish their initialization
