Sr. High Roll Bake It’s time for the first Roll Bake of 2016, and the last

one until fall. All proceeds for Roll Bakes go to

support the Sr. High United Methodist Youth

Fellowship and our Spring Break Mission Trip.

Both types of rolls can be donated to Hidden Harvest – a food rescue

and distribution agency here in the Great Lakes Bay Region! So, if you

would like to support the youth, but would rather not have the rolls

yourselves, consider donating them to Hidden Harvest. The Sr. High

youth will receive the proceeds, while Hidden Harvest and those they

help are given fresh rolls. (All donations of rolls to Hidden Harvest must

be prepaid.)

The cost is $3.50 for plain, and $4.00 for cinnamon.

You can place your order or donation of rolls to Hidden Harvest by:

• Contacting your favorite Sr. High youth.

• Filling out a yellow pew card (for personal orders) and putting it in

the offering plate or dropping it off in the office with Attn: John

Engler. • Filling out a white pew envelope (for donation of rolls to Hidden

Harvest) and putting it in the offering plate or dropping them off in

the church office.

• Calling the Church Office, 835.6797.

Order deadline is Sunday, February 28. As always, we appreciate your

support of our youth and our Sr. High UMYF.

GREETINGS & SHARING OF ANNOUNCEMENTS

Preparation for Worship is a signal to end our conversations and prepare our hearts for worship.

PRELUDE “I Want Jesus to Walk with Me” B. Trinkley Wesley Men - Grace Marra, director

*CONGREGATIONAL INTROIT “Surely the Presence of the Lord” #328

*CALL TO WORSHIP

Leader: We follow Christ, People: who says take up your cross.

Leader: We follow Christ, People: who bids us come and offer our lives. Leader: We follow Christ, People: who summons us to new life.

All: Come, let us worship our Creator.

*OPENING HYMN “Jesus, Keep Me Near the Cross” #301

UNISON PRAYER

Gracious and patient God, there are so many things that block our

path to the Cross. Our inability to believe; our greed and selfishness; our

desire to hide rather than to open our hearts to you. We don’t like to think

that we hide, but we do. We remember with amazement how you

suffered for us when you carried the cross. Yet when we were called to

carry that cross with you, we resisted doing so. Help us to know that

when we carry your cross we bear the burdens of others, and we bear

the sin of those around us. Through our sacrifice, others will see that you

died for them and that you love them. Give us the humility and the

strength to walk with you in this Lenten season bearing the burdens you

bore and loving as you loved. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

ANTHEM “When I Survey the Wondrous Cross” arr. G. Martin Chancel Choir - Grace Marra, director

PASTORAL PRAYER/THE LORD’S PRAYER/RESPONSE

“Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom

come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our

daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who

trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from

evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever.

Amen.”
