PLEASE NOTE: Currently your 884 will recognise all PH20(46) keys as suitable for use with RK60, so it very important to refer to the application list in this pack, or in the 2013 KL car book, if the model isn’t listed, you cannot use RK60 and will have to clone to TK60/100.

There are certain limitations when cloning RK60 keys.

A vehicles CPU recognises each security device as an individual and so stores each key/fob in a different slot in its memory so it can differentiate between a genuine start of the car and a security breech.

Because of this, when you clone a key (rather than program a new key into a new slot in the memory) the cloning device (884) replicates the information on the original key and copies this onto the copy key. When this copy key is inserted into the cars ignition, the car recognises it as the original key it was copied from; rather than a new individual key.

When we clone onto an RK60, the same thing occurs; the car recognises the new remote as if it was the original. Therefore, if the RK60 is used directly after the original key, it will push the original remotes signal from the cars memory and replace it with it’s own, and vice versa. This can mean that although both keys will start the car at all times, it will cause the previous key used to remotely unlock the car (whether this was the original remote OR the RK60) to lose connection and no longer lock or unlock the car.

THIS DOES NOT RUIN THE KEY, both the RK60 and the original key can be reactivated easily. Please see RK60 cloning instruction on page 6.

Keyless start kits allow the reproduction

of certain keys that originally have a keyless fob to start the car. These are

not remote keys. Unlocking of the car is via the manual key included in the

set and the fob inserts into the dashboard like the original fob to start the

car.

If the original key is removed or there is a power failure during the analysis

of the original key (the phase in which the machine displays the message,

“do not remove the key”. If this happens the data on the key can be lost

and the key will not start the car. With the 884 it is possible to retrieve this

data. But the key in question has to have been the last key to have been

used on the machine
